Exotic Argentinean

"Some people have active imaginations, but they don't know me and they're wrong if they think they do," proclaimed the first Latin representative of Cover Girl.

Argentinean model Yamila Diaz has done well as a model with such prominent gigs as posing for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues and Calendars, and appearing in coveted Victoria's Secret catalogues.

In her private live, Yamila is busy learning Italian and English and living with Italian artist Giuliano in their Manhattan residence.

Ravishing Rahi

Childhood and Family:

Of Lebanese and Spanish descent, Yamila Diaz Rahi is the daughter of a doctor and housewife. Born in 1978 in Buenos Aires, Yamila, along with her sisters Maria and Yael and parents, lived in Argentina.

Spreading The Magnet

Having no real ambitions to be a model, Yamila Diaz was studying Economics when a talent scout noticed her in 1996 relaxing on a Buenos Aires beach. Recognizing the opportunity, Yamila went to Milan to initiate her career as a model.

Though exotic and exquisite, Yamila would take quite a few years before breaking through in her career. After appearances in chain store catalogues, Yamila would finally reach higher heights with her work in Glamour, Cosmopolitan and Victoria's Secret until she was a highly desired model by high-profile magazines around the globe.

Yamila embellished the covers of Marie Claire, Elle (US and Spain), Max's European editions, GQ, and Shape, in addition to her world famous swimsuit and lingerie shoots and soon entered the flock of such stunning models as Estella Warren and Laetitia Casta in the Sports Illustrated 2000 Swimsuit Edition.

Recently, together with Niki Taylor, Yamila has been the up-to-the-minute face for Cover Girl. She followed up with a series of stints for the Italian cosmetic Bio-Etyc, Newport News, Bebe, Emanuel Ungaro 'Fleur de Diva' fragrance, Gear, Hanro, Replay jeans, and Swish jeans.

The Argentinean magnet also won an important role in the Italian feature film Il pesce innamorato (Love of the Fishes), co-starring Italian actor Leonardo Pieraccioni.
