Scary Movie 5

Sarah Hyland got her start in the industry with commercial work and voice overs when she was still a child. At age 5, she made her big screen debut in the role of Howard Stern's daughter in “Private Parts” (1997). It was followed by appearances in the popular film adaptation of Stephen McCauley's novel, “The Object of My Affection” (1998), starring Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd, Tim Robbins' drama “Cradle Will Rock” (1999) and the comedy/drama film “Advice from a Caterpillar” (1999), where she portrayed the character of Lizbeth. From 1997 to 1998, Hyland portrayed Rain Wolfe on the television soap opera “Another World.” She made a guest appearance in an episode of “Trinity” in 1998 and then played Molly in the TV film “Anne” in 1999, for which she shared a Young Artist nomination for Best Performance in a Feature Film or TV Movie - Young Ensemble.

Entering the new millennium, Hyland could be seen in the television soaps “All My Children” (2000) and “As the World Turns” (2001), where she played Karen and Alison McDermott Stewart #, respectively. Additionally, she guest starred in the primetime series like “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” (2001), “Touched by an Angel” (2002), “Law & Order” (2004) and “Law & Order: Trial by Jury” (2005). Hyland played the character of Heather in the ABC soap opera “One Life to Live” in 2007 and then had a recurring role as Maddie Healy in the NBC series “Lipstick Jungle” from 2008 to 2009. However, the actress did not enjoy a huge success until she was cast as Haley Dunphy, the stereotypical teenager, on the television sitcom “Modern Family,” which premiered on ABC on September 23, 2009. Along with the rest of the cast, Hylan won four Screen Actors Guilds for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, and she also was nominated for the Critics Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series (2013), and the Teen Choice Awards for Choice TV Female Scene Stealer (2012) and Choice TV Female Breakout Star (2010).

Meanwhile, Hyland continued on taking roles on movies such as “Monster Heroes” (2010), “I Owe My Life to Corbin Bleu” (2010, Short), “Conception” (2011), “Cougars Inc.” (2011), “Struck by Lightning” (2012, with Chris Colfer), “Geek Charming” (2011, TV Movie), “Scary Movie 5” (2013), where she played Mia, “Call Me Crazy: A Five Film” (2013, TV Movie) and “April Apocalypse” (2013). The film was a flop commercially and critically.
