American actress Deborah Ann Woll is most famous for playing Jessica Hamby on the television series “True Blood” (2008-?), from which she picked up a Satellite Award, a Screen Actors Guild nomination and a Scream nomination.

Woll is in a relationship with comedian Edward E.J. Scott, whose family are troubled with choroideremia, a condition that slowly blinds its victim. Using her celebrity status, Woll helps support them and other with the disease. Woll herself has battled with Celiac disease, which makes her body intolerant to foods containing gluten.

Deborah Ann Woll was born on February 7, 1985, in Brooklyn, New York, to a teacher and an architect. She is of German and Irish lineage. She took acting, piano and dance lessons. She attended high school at Packer Collegiate Institute and later graduated from the USC School of Theatre at the University of Southern California with a BFA in Acting. She also enrolled at Carnegie Mellon University's pre-college intensive program in theater, and completed an intensive Shakespeare program at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, England.

Deborah Ann Woll made her television acting debut in 2007 an episode of “Life” called “Powerless,” playing Nancy Wiscinski. She continued to land guest roles on “ER” (2008, playing Aurora Quill), “My Name Is Earl” (2008, playing Greta), “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” (2008, playing Stephane) and “The Mentalist” (2008, playing Kerry), and also got roles in the TV movie “Aces 'N' Eights” and the short film “ La cachette” (both 2008).

Her big break arrived when she was cast as Bill Compton's vampire progeny, Jessica Hamby, on the HBO television series “True Blood,” opposite Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Sam Trammell, Ryan Kwanten, Rutina Wesley and Alexander Skarsgård. Since its premiered on September 7, 2008, the show has received mostly favorable reviews and won several awards. Woll shared the 2009 Satellite Special Achievement Award for Best Ensemble, Television for her work. She also was nominated for a 2010 Scream Award in the category of Breakout Performance - Female and a 2010 Screen Actors Guild for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series that same year.

Aside from her TV stint in “True Blood,” Woll managed to take other work on both television and films. She appeared in episodes of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” (2009) and “Axe Cop” (2013, voice)., and reprised her role of Jessica Hamby in an episode of “A Drop of True Blood” (TV Series short) called “Jessica.” Her film credits “Mother's Day” (2010), “Little Murder” (2011), “Seven Days in Utopia” (2011), “Someday This Pain Will Be Useful to You” (2011), “Catch .44” (2011), “The Carrier” (Short, 2011), “Ruby Sparks” (2012) and “Highland Park” (2013).

Woll will play Kristen in the upcoming film “Meet Me in Montenegro” (2014), which is co-written and directed by and starring Alex Holdridge. She also is scheduled to appear in the films “Forever” (2014) and “ The Automatic Hate” (2015).
