American actress Beth Behrs is best known to television audiences for playing Caroline Channing in the CBS sitcom “2 Broke Girls” (2011-), from which she picked up a Teen Choice nomination and a People's Choice nomination.

Behrs is romantically linked to actor Michael Gladis. They worked together in the short film “The Argument,” written and directed by the comedy duo HoltandSteele for the website Funny or Die.

Childhood and Family:

Beth Behrs was born on December 26, 1985, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, to David Behrs, a college president, and Maureen Behrs, a first grade teacher. She has a younger sister. Her family moved to Lynchburg, Virginia when she was 4. Around the same year, she started performing in theater. Beth also played competitive soccer while growing up, and was classically trained as a singer.

At 15, Beth moved with her family to Marin County, California, in the San Francisco Bay Area. She was accepted into the highly respected drama program at Tamalpais High School in 2001. She also studied acting at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, where she performed in many plays such as “Dangling Conversations: The Music of Simon and Garfunkel, “Korczak’s Children” and “A Bright Room Called Day.”      

In 2004, Beth relocated to Los Angeles, California to attend the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television. She graduated in 2008 with a degree in Critical Studies. After graduating, she won a Young Musician's Foundation Vocal Scholarship Award.

Beth Behrs made her professional acting debut as Heidi in the teen comedy film “American Pie Presents: The Book of Love,” which was released directly to DVD on December 22, 2009. In late 2010, she broke into the small screen with a guest appearance in “NCIS: Los Angeles.” It was followed by a guest spot in “Castle” in early 2011.

While working as a nanny and at the Geffen Playhouse in Westwood, Behrs auditioned for the television comedy series “2 Broke Girls” and ended up winning the lead role of Caroline Channing after seven auditions. The show premiered on CBS on September 19, 2011 and has since gained mostly positive reviews. Behrs was nominated for a Teen Choice Award in 2012 for Choice TV Breakout Performance – Female and a People's Choice Award in 2014 for Favorite TV Gal Pals (sharing with Kat Dennings) for her work on the series.

Behrs starred as Brittany in “Adventures of Serial Buddies” (2011), an independent film directed and written by Keven Undergaro. The film also starred Christopher Lloyd, Kathie Lee Gifford, and Artie Lange. She appeared as aliengirl in the comedy film “Route 30, Too!” (2012), which was directed and written by John Putch, and provided the voice of PNK Carrie on “Monsters University” (2013). Also in 2013, she appeared on “It's a Brad, Brad World,” a reality television series featuring fashion stylist Brad Goreski, and presented the 2013 Academy of Country Music Awards.

In 2014, Behrs will play Deborah in the upcoming drama/crime movie “Chasing Eagle Rock,” written and directed by Erick Avari. The film will also star Michael Welch, Erick Avari and Mary-Margaret Humes.
