SummaryNo DVD??? WHY? WHY? WHY?
Content
Although the movie never really received the just credit that it truly deserved, the collective use of suspense mingling alongside sheer erotica had me captivated and begging for more! Anyone who finds Sharon Stone to be a fox shouldn't pass up the opportunity to see her in THIS masterpiece. And, if you're any sort of Baldwin fan, of course seeing good ol' William Baldwin sizzle on-screen is just as much fun! If the suspense doesn't keep you on the edge of your seat, the sex appeal sure will! A MUST have!!!

SummaryFriends don't let friends watch Sliver
Content

Sliver tries to be an erotic thriller. Joe Ezterhas' adaptation of the lukewarm Ira Levin novel falls completely apart in this overrated overhyped movie that has more disappointments than surprises. The whole movie in its attempts to be controversial is just plain pointless.
Sharon Stone plays a tenant moving into Apartment 20B of the Sliver Building. She moves in soon after the previous tenant is murdered by the Billy Baldwin character (Me giving that tidbit away will not blow the movie for you the screenplay already blows chunks) little does she know that she's being watched. In fact the Billy Baldwin Character in a secret room is watching all of the tenants. ( I guess he doesn't like paying those late fees at Blockbuster on his adult films or the looks the guy at the newsstand gives him when he buys his dirty magazines) So wiring an entire building to watch all the tenants is a lot easier and Cheaper to him. He likes to watch. I wish I were watching something a bit more entertaining Like Manos The Hands of Fate or The Wild Wild Wild world of Batwoman.
Several murders and several pointless lukewarm love scenes later happen and Stone's character doesn't care about anything until ol' Baldwin starts cheating on her with the tenant from across the hall. Finding out about all his crimes she shoots up TV screens in his secret room instead of going to the police. Stone's final line in the movie is "get a life" I wish I hadn't wasted part of mine on this movie.
Sharon Stone wanted this movie to build on the breakthrough she made with Basic Instinct. This is the movie that started the downward spiral of her career. Sadly, her acting is wretched here as is the entire cast. Most of the blame goes to Joe "Erotic Thriller Ezterhas" who writes a screenplay that is so bad it would make a seventh grade English teacher cry. Sliver is a thriller with no erotic and no thrills. It's just inane sixth grade dialogue and juvenile shenanigans. The revelations have no bite and the ending makes the whole movie pointless.
I look forward to the day when Joel, Crow and Tom Servo give this movie a proper beating in the Satellite of Love. Until then, avoid at all costs. Friends don't let friends Watch Sliver.

SummaryMight as Well Make it a DVD AND Music Video
Content
I, like some of the others, was surprised to see this wasn't out as at least a movie DVD. This Sound track changed my music listening habits for life. When I logged onto Amazon, it wasn't just to get the DVD of the film, I was hoping that it was a 2 Disc Set that also had the corresponding music videos for each song, optimized for listening without the movie dialogue. Paramount has taken so long with this one, they might as well go for the Gold with this project if they ever get around to it. Can you imagine what could be done visually with this?

SummaryI WANT MY DVD!
Content
I'm with the folks who also wrote reviews criticizing Paramount for still not putting this title on DVD. Years ago when I saw this movie I was totally intrigued by it. Its one of those great "catch all" movies---a little bit of everything....suspense, drama, romance. Also, I'm a big movie soundtrack buff and this one is still one of my favorites.

So whats the hold up with the DVD, Paramount?!?!?!?!? I have the VHS, but of course thats no comparison to DVD quality. I would love to be able to play this movie in real stereo surround sound that only a DVD can provide.
