 | I had the highest hopes for this movie for two reasons. First they finally added Robin (long overdo) and Riddler has always been my favorite Batman foe. However I left the theater a bit disappointed. I liked Chris as Robin. I think he worked well. I also enjoyed Tommy Lee as Two Face a great deal. Val could not fill Michael's shoes as Batman for me,however I liked him enough to look past that. What I really disliked was Jim as Riddler and how clean and neon Gotham City looked compared to how dirty and scary it was in the first two movies. Jim just didn't make a good Riddler to me. A far cry from Frank Gorshin's WONDERFUL protrayal of the Prince of riddles. Where Jack's Joker was silly and funny he still remained scary and never came off annoying. Same with Danny's Penguin. Jim did not come across as well playing Riddler. I really think the film would have been better had Robin Williams played the role. I just saw Riddler as being constantly annoying like nails on a chalk board. I just wanted Batman to hurry in beat him up and ship him off to Arkham with the quickness. |

 | "135, 176,100-3-6-8- I lost count. HA-HA-HA!"
"Holy Rusted Metal, Batman!"
"Ah! you sunk my battal ship!"
"Oh' that's a good one." No, that's a good one"
Some unforgetable lines. Btaman forever is very cool. Not the best but at least it was beter than Batman and Robin. one thing I liked about it was that most of the characters were so believable. The Riddler was the most believable in my opinion. Jim Carry perfect!!!
The movie was really funny. Although some of the attempted humor was inappropriate and I didn't like them. But I just put thoughs out of my brain and forget them. When you do that the movie is hilarious! The action was really cool too. In my opinion I thought it was pretty cheesy how they always have the street thugs wereing something that glose!
The story line was something new to me I really didn't expect what I saw.. but I liked it. Batman was casted pretty good. Robin was perfect. He WAS Robin. Two-Face was really cool too, and that weird girl, Dr. what's her name was cool also.
So you'v got a movie that that has well casted characters, good action, and is really funny. Besides it's 600 times better than "Batman and Robin." Why not watch it?
I DID.

 | Leave it to the suits at Warner Brothers to decid the phenomenally successful formula of their BATMAN franchise must be dramatically changed. Although the third film did squeak by the second financially, the story-telling and overall production suffered tremendously. The most disastrous change was losing Tim Burton as director, replacing him with Joel Schumacher. Long gone is the timeless Gotham, a major character in the first two films. Now Gotham is a cheesier modern city where fedora's have been replaced by baseball caps. Industrial shadow has been replaced by bright neon colors with occasional glimpses of gothic statues. Schumacher's vision put the film focus back on the hero whereas its predecessors focused on the villains. This results in a sufficient Riddler (cast to type Jim Carrey) and a boring appearance as Two-face (Tommy Lee Jones taking a role played by Billy Dee Williams in the first BATfilm). Another exchange came in Val Kilmer's replacement of Michael Keaton. This was not a loss as Kilmer's new take on the Lighter Knight worked better with the comic themed script.
Overall, the story is extremely plot and character heavy: adding two new villains with two henchwomen, a love interest (beautiful Nicole Kidman) and a partner in Robin (Chris O'Donnell in a fun turn). This film has none of the psycho-interest of the first 2 films and the screenplay leaves nothing to the imagination. Every though comes out of someone's mouth. The DVD release has no extra features with the exception of the dreaded 'production notes'. It has a standard video transfer that will test the color spectrum in this new look for the franchise. The audio transfer is good. Not as interesting, artistic or aggressive as either of the Burton films, the mindless BATMAN FOREVER left me with one thought:
The Bat-Signal is not a beeper.

 | Forget about what everone elese said this film ROCKED it's not dark like the fist two but it rocked okey so some stuff is stupid like Batman's new ''Super Suit'' but trust me you can ignoir that but this movie has aciton that keeps you at the ege of you're seat the story is solid and not corney and Val Kilmer is GREAT as Batman but he sucks at playing Bruce Wyne but you know and Jim Carey as The Riddler is soooooo FUNNY I mean he makes you lagh even as a VILLAIN. And Tommy Lee Jones is good at playing Two-Face and gives nice one liners but I hated Robin he sucks enyway take it from me Batman Forever is worth the time |
