Background:

TV personality Tony Potts is perhaps best known as the weekend anchor of “Access Hollywood,” a gig he had from April 2009 to February 2011. He was a correspondent and fill-in host on the news show “Entertainment Tonight” from June to September 1998. Potts is also a radio host on KFI AM 640 for a show called, “Behind the Velvet Ropes with Tony Potts.”

Potts is married to Shalini Vadhera.

Childhood and Family:

Tony Potts was born on January 23, 1963. He received a B.A. in Journalism/Editorial Writing from California State University at Humboldt.

On July 24, 2010, Tony married Indian television personality Shalini Vadhera. He has two daughters.

Career:

In the mid 1990s, Tony Potts served as a host for a Fox Television morning show, “Good Day New York.” During his time in New York, Potts had a featured role as news anchor #2 in the 1996 thriller movie “Ransom,” which was directed by Ron Howard and starred Mel Gibson, Rene Russo and Gary Sinise. He left New York City for Los Angeles in late 1997 after singing a one year talk show development deal with ABC/Buena Vista Television. However, the pilot was not pick up in the late 1998. Potts then went on to sign a development deal with Paramount Television. From June to September 1998, he worked as a correspondent and substitute host on the news show “Entertainment Tonight.”

Potts' big break arrived when he joined the syndicated television entertainment news program “Access Hollywood” in April 1999 as correspondent and weekend anchor. He would stay with the show until February 2011.

Potts also hosted the TV special “ Battle of the Network Stars” in 2003 and “Inside Fear Factor Live” in 2005. He made self appearance in several TV shows like “The Contender” (2005), “Dirt” (2007), “ Dancing with the Stars” (2006-2007) and “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” (2010).
