SummaryA solid Family-oriented adaptation
Content
What makes Tarzan such a great character is his story flexibility. There are dozens of ways to approach the Lord of the Apes, and everyone has their favorite version. But Burroughs knew that to have a lasting character, you've got to have someone than can adapt.

Personally, I prefer the books. But they are savage, definitely not recommended family reading. This film, on the other hand, does a fair job of being true to Tarzan and his story while still not losing its target audience. It's a tricky balancing act, but Disney manages to pull it off.

Tarzan himself suffers the most in the translation. He's a lot nicer, even sweet. And he's not nearly as tough. But unless you're a hardcore fan who just can't stand any variation of the character, he's still a good character. And the animators did a terrific job of capturing his animal-like movements.

The story, with a theme on family, is a natural for Tarzan, and all the characters (even the silly ones) are well-drawn both artistically and script wise. My only small complaint is Rosie O'Donnell's character, the ape Turk. Her use of modern lingo and personality just don't fit with the rest of the film. But that's to be expected. There's always one character like this in Disney movies, thanks to Robin Williams' annoyingly over-loved Genie.

All in all, a fun, well-executed film.

As for the ads (and I can't believe I have to explain how to do this to anyone) you can skip through them in about 3 seconds by just hitting the NEXT/SKIP button on your remote a few times.

SummaryI love Tarzan !!!!
Content
I think Tarzan is a very touching movie. I first saw the movie with this little boy my mom use to babysit. I watched it all the way through and I just loved it. Now the little boy my mom used to babysit is now 6 years old and I want my son to watch it, he is 2 years old.

SummaryIt's an okay movie.
Content
Though a little sad in places and funny in others, I just felt annoyed Disney is remaking every single movie from the past and making them "G" Rated. But hey what can you say when there is a grown man walking around in a small lion cloth and grunting and groaning all the time? lol no one can!

SummaryBrilliant!
Content
This was actually much better than the books. Of course, because it's quite difficult to make it seem believable or take it seriously as a novel. And it's almost impossible to make a good live action movie about it too.
But this version is perfect! And the classic scene up in the tree when Tarzan meets his mate, "Me Tarzan, you Jane", is the best of the best!

What else can I say? My favourite story comes to life the whole new way. The only right way! I love you Disney people!

Movie previews are also on any VCR tapes you buy/have bought-why give a GREAT movie a bad review just because you have a cheezy dvd player and you can't get the dvd to fast forward???? This movie was packed full of action, tenderness, compassion and fun. The music is OUTRAGEOUS and makes you want to get up and dance along. I recommend it highly!!!!
