American actress and singer Tiffany Thornton is best known for playing the role of Tawni Hart on the Disney Channel Original Series, “Sonny with a Chance” (2009-2012) and “So Random!” (2011-2012).    

Thornton has two sons with her husband, Christopher Carney.

Childhood and Family:

Tiffany Thornton was born Tiffany Dawn Thornton on February 14, 1986, in College Station, Texas. She graduated from Texas A&M University.

In December 2009, Tiffany was engaged to her boyfriend, Christopher Carney, a probation officer and ex- lead singer of the band The Prom Kings. They tied the knot on November 12, 2011 at Garvan Woodland Gardens, in Hot Springs National Park in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Tiffany gave birth to her first child, a son Kenneth James Curney on August 14, 2012. The couple welcomed the new addition of the family, a baby son Bentley Cash Carney, on March 1, 2014.      

Shortly after the birth of their second son, Tiffany and Carney split up. Carney accused her of abducting their two sons. The couple reconciled in September 2014.

Tiffany Thornton made her television acting debut in the pilot episode of the Fox sitcom “Quintuplets” in 2004. She then appeared in “8 Simple Rules” (2004), “American Dreams” (2005), “The O.C.” (2005-2006), “Desperate Housewives” (2006), “That's So Raven” (2006), “Jericho” (2007), “Side Order of Life” (2007), “Wizards of Waverly Place” (2007) and “Hannah Montana” (2007-2008). She portrayed Felicia in the TV film “Hell on Earth” (2007), which starred Jazz Lauren Anderson, Lori Lea Armstrong and Kim Coles.

 In 2009, Thornton joined Demi Lovato to star on the sitcom “Sonny with a Chance,” which debuted on the Disney Channel on February 8, 2009. She played the role of Tawni Hart on the show. The actress next portrayed Jamie Wynn in the Disney Channel Original Movie “Hatching Pete” (2009).

After “Sonny with a Chance” ended on January 2, 2011,  Thornton reprised her role of Tawni Hart on the Disney Channel musical sketch comedy series “So Random!” The series ran for a season from June 5, 2011 to March 25, 2012.

Thornton also provided the voice of Doris in an episode of “Fish Hooks” called “Doris Flores Gorgeous” (2010) and Glimmer on “Pixie Hollow Games,” a half-hour television special broadcast on November 19, 2011, based on the Disney Fairies franchise. She was cast as Meghan McCain on the HBO political drama film “Game Change” (2012), which was directed by Jay Roach and starred Julianne Moore, Woody Harrelson and Ed Harris, and appeared with Jessica Lou Allen, Peter Donald Badalamenti II and Roman Beetz in the horror film “Unlucky Charms” (2013)

In 2014,  Thornton co-starred opposite Dean Cain, Elisa Donovan and Beverley Mitchell in the family movie “The Dog Who Saved Easter” and starred as Lupita in the animation television series “Muertoons.”

Thornton is also a singer. In 2009, she performed “Let It Go” (with Mitchel Musso), which was included on the 2009 compilation album “Disney Channel Playlist,” “Some Day My Prince Will Come,”  “Magic Mirror” and “I Believe” (with Kermit the Frog). She performed other songs like “If I Never Knew You” for “DisneyMania 7” (2010), “Kiss Me” and “Sure Feels Like Love” for “Sonny with a Chance” (2010), and “Gift of Grammar” (2011). Thornton has stated officially on Twitter and in an interview that she is going to be working on her country debut studio album after having her 2nd child.
