Tiffani-Amber Thiessen, who is now billed as Tiffani Thiessen, made her TV debut with the role of cheerleader Kelly Kapowski in the teen sitcom “Saved by the Bell” (1989-1992). Her fine portrayal of the popular character earned two Young Artist nominations. The 1987 Miss Junior America and an America Award winner, Thiessen was later famous as Valerie Malone in the teen drama “Beverly Hills, 90210” (1994-1998, 2000). The actress is now set to play Lainey in Rob Schiller’s upcoming comedy Stroller Wars (2006).

Off camera, the vegetarian actress owns Tit 4 Tat Productions. The 43rd actor in the 2006 “100 Greatest Teen Stars” list was invited to work with the National Advisory Council of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

As for her romantic life, the owner of a 2.8 million dollar Studio City home once had a relationship with actors Brian Austin Green (from 1992 to 1995), David Strickland (together until his suicide on March 22, 1999) and Richard Ruccolo (engaged on October 12, 2001, separated in April 2003). Currently, Thiessen is married to actor Brady Smith.

Childhood and Family:

Born on January 23, 1974, in Long Beach, California, Tiffani-Amber Thiessen is the second of three to park designer Frank Thiessen and homemaker Robyn Thiessen. Her brothers are professional cyclist Todd Thiessen (born in 1968) and Schuyler Thiessen (born in 1977).

Tiffani, who enjoyed performing in front of other people, began modeling in print catalogues and ads at the early age of seven and became involved in beauty pageants two years later. The class valedictorian of Valley Professional High School in Long Beach, Tiff (Tiffani’s nickname) decided to pursue acting.

On July 9, 2005, Tiff married actor Brady Smith in a private estate in Montecito, California. In relation to the wedding ceremony, she remarked, “It was such a perfect day and a perfect weekend. We had such an amazing time with our friends and our family and seriously, not one thing went wrong. We were very blessed to have everything go so beautifully. Every time I think about it, I get giddy.”

Tiffani-Amber Thiessen, who is now credited simply as Tiffani Thiessen, was a model for The Peaches ‘n Cream Barbie Doll at eight years old. After competing in several beauty pageants, young Thiessen won the title of Miss Junior America Pageant (1987) and took home an America award for Best Looking Girl. She also became the winner of Teen magazine’s Great Model Search in 1988 and was named Cover Girl magazine’s “Model of the Year” in 1989.

Also in 1989, Thiessen made her TV debut with the supporting role of cheerleader Kelly Kapowski in the popular teen sitcom “Saved by the Bell” (1989-1992). Later, she reprised the widely known role in two Saved by the Bell TV movies (the 1992 Saved by the Bell: Hawaiian Style and the 1994 Saved by the Bell: Wedding in Las Vegas) and the failed sequel series “Saved by the Bell: The College Years” (1993-1994). Besides bringing her wide recognition, the character also gave the actress two Young Artist nominations for Best Young Actress Starring in an Off-Primetime or Cable Series.

Thiessen was also seen in some guest performances in shows like “Charles in Charge” (1990) and “Step by Step” (1992) before making her first silver screen performance in the comedy Son in Law (1993), playing Tracy. After portraying raped high school student Caitlin Rose in She Fought Alone (1995, TV), the actress produced the made-for-TV horror Buried Secrets (1996), in which she also starred as Annalisse Vellum. Three years later, she had the supporting role of Rebecca Melini/Juliette in the romantic comedy Love Stinks (1999).

Thiessen then joined the cast of the acclaimed teen drama “Beverly Hills, 90210” (1994-1998, 2000) by taking on the role of troublemaker Valerie Malone. She also appeared in the recurring role Marti in the sitcom “Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place” (2000) and sex columnist Amy Watson in “Just Shoot Me” (2001).

Thiessen was next cast as Sharon Bates in the Woody Allen-helmed Hollywood Ending (2002) before taking a supporting turn as Wilhelmina ‘Billie’ Chambers in the action series “Fastlane” (2002-2003). During 2003-2004, she turned up in nine episodes of the sitcom “Good Morning, Miami,” as Victoria Hill.

The following year, Thiessen took on an off-camera task and directed the short drama Just Pray (2005, also served as co-producer), featuring Zac Gardner and Cynthia Watros. Soon, the beautiful actress will be seen on the small screen in the leading role of Lainey in Rob Schiller’s comedy Stroller Wars (2006).
