Background:
Brisbane identical twins The Veronicas broke the pop-rock music scene with their
single "4ever" from their debut album The Secret Life Of… (2005 AUS; 2006 U.S).
The 20-year-old girls, Lisa Marie and Jessica Louise Origliasso, continued to
rock the charts with their next singles, "Everything I'm Not," "When It All
Falls Apart" and "Revolution."
The award winning duo will release a CD/DVD called Exposed...The Secret Life Of
The Veronicas on December 2, 2006 in Australia. The girls also stated in a
recent interview that they will be off across Asia and Europe promoting their
album in 2007.

Childhood and Family:
On Christmas Day in 1984, The Veronicas members, identical twin sisters of
Italian (Sicilian) descent Lisa Marie (1 minute younger) and Jessica Louise
Origliasso (1 minute older), were born in Brisbane, Australia in the suburb of
Albany Creek, to parents Colleen and Joseph Origliasso. They have an older
brother, Julian Origliasso.
The Secret Life of…
Career:
The girls got their first taste of the show business at an early age. Since they
were five years old, the have performed small parts on various television shows
and acted in local productions before eventually playing music. First known
simply as “The Origliasso Twins,” the young twins began singing at events and
award shows. They soon drew the attention of agents and talent agencies.
In their teens, the twins released three teen pop albums as “Lisa and Jessica.”
In 2001, they landed reoccurring roles in the Australian children's series “Cybergirl.”
The girls then picked up the name “Teal” and released the single "Baby It's
Over," a hooky number that made the twins sought-after songwriters. In 2004,
Australian Idol, employed the twins and one of their compositions appeared on
Australian Idol winner Casey Donovan's debut album, For You. Another of their
tracks was also featured on J-pop singer Miz's album, Say It's Forever, that
same year.
Also in 2004, the girls were picked up by Warner Bros. Records/Reprise Records's
Sire Records label, for a reported sum of 2 million dollars. Their debut album,
The Secret Life Of... , was released October 17, 2005 in Australia, where it
peaked at #2 and is certified 4x Platinum. It was later released in the U.S. on
Valentine's Day, 2006. Produced by the hit makers behind Britney Spears and
Avril Lavigne, The Secret Life Of... has sold about 50,000 copies in the U.S.
The first single, "4ever," has received much radio play in Australia, and also
some American radio play. It has peaked at #2 of the Australian ARIAnet Singles
Chart and peaked at #7 on the New Zealand RIANZ Singles Chart. The song's music
video won Best Video of The Year at the MTV Australia Video Music Awards. It was
also featured in the Amanda Bynes 2006 comedy film She's the Man, based on
William Shakespeare's play "Twelfth Night, or What You Will." Other singles from
the album are "Everything I'm Not" (#7 AUS), "When It All Falls Apart" (#7 AUS,
NZ), "Revolution" (#18 AUS) and "Leave Me Alone."
In October 2005, they were nominated for the "Best Breakthrough Single" award at
the Australian ARIA awards. They were nominated for 3 awards at the MTV
Australia Video Music Awards 2006, which they won two: "Video of the Year" and "Spankin'
New Artist." They lost Best "Pop Video" to Ashlee Simpson. In October 2006, The
Secret Life Of... won "Best Pop Release” at the ARIA Awards. It was also
nominated for "Highest Selling Album" and "Best Breakthrough Album."
The Australian duo will release a CD/DVD called Exposed...The Secret Life Of The
Veronicas. The DVD features a rockumentary while the CD features live
performances from the Australian 2006 Revolution tour. It is to be released on
December 2, 2006 in Australia. The twins also stated in a recent interview that
they will be off across Asia and Europe promoting their album in 2007.
