Hellstrom on the CBS soap opera “The Young and the Restless” from November 1999 to November 2010. He also played recurring roles on the ABC sitcom “8 Simple Rules” (2003, as Donny Doyle) and the CW series “Nikita” (2011, as Nathan Colville) and has guest starred in such popular series as “Sabrina, the Teenage Witch,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Nip/Tuck,” “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” and its spin off series “CSI: NY” and “CSI: Miami,” and “Ghost Whisperer.” His film credits include “Just Married” (2003), “Sleepover” (2004), “Home of the Brave” (2006) and “Once Fallen” (2020). Luckinbill has been married to actress Amelia Heinle (born March 17, 1973) since 2007. They have two kids named Thaddeus Rowe Luckinbill, Jr. (born 2007) and Georgia March Luckinbill (born 2009). He is also the stepfather of Heinle's son August Weatherly (born 1996). Thad previously dated actress Heidi Mueller (born January 29, 1982) and is friends with actor Brian Presley. He enjoys playing basketball, boxing, surfing and going to the gym and plays for the celebrity basketball team Hollywood Knights on occasion.
Childhood and Family: Thaddeus Rowe Luckinbill, who would later be famous as Thad Luckinbill, was born on April 24, 1975, in Enid, Oklahoma. His parents own an electrical company. Thad was introduced to music by her mother, who is a singer. He learned to play guitar as a child and later majored in business finance at the University of Oklahoma. Thad is an identical twin. His brother, Trent Luckinbill, who is 12 minutes younger, is a lawyer living in Washington, DC. He also has older sisters named Susan and Deanna. On March 3, 2007, Thad married “Young and the Restless” costar Amelia Heinle. The couple have two children together, son Thaddeus Rowe Luckinbill, Jr. (born November 2, 2007), and daughter Georgia March Luckinbill (born December 17, 2009). He also has a stepson named August Weatherly (born 1996) from Heinle's previous marriage to actor Michael Weatherly.
Career: Thad Luckinbill made his television debut as Kyle in an episode of the MTV series “Undressed,” which aired on July 30, 1999. He enjoyed a big breakthrough when he landed the role of J.T. Hellstrom on the Emmy Award winning soap opera “The Young and the Restless.” He began as a recurring character in November 1999 before eventually being put on contract in November 2002. After working for 11 years, he decided to leave the show to pursue other opportunities. He made his last appearance on the show on November 5, 2010. In 2000, Luckinbill appeared in a short film called “Crush,” which was written and directed by Phillip J. Bartell and starred Brett Chukerman, Ema Tuennerman and Weston Mueller. He then costarred in the direct to video release “Task Force 2001,” opposite Jeff Peterson and Holly Towne. The following year, he guest starred in “Sabrina, the Teenage Witch” (as Sean Hexton) and “Nash Bridges” (as Young Bobby Bridges) and appeared as a bronco rider in Madonna's music video “Don't Tell Me.” He made his television movie debut in the comedy “Generation Gap” (2002), in which he starred with Debbie Reynolds and Sara Paxton. The same year, he was seen making a guest appearance in the television shows “The Division” (as Josh Costa), “Providence” (as Jack Finch), “JAG” (as PO1 Moritz) and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” (as R.J Brooks). In 2003, Luckinbill played the recurring role of Donny Doyle on the ABC sitcom “8 Simple Rules.” He also had a supporting role on “Just Married,” a romantic comedy starring Ashton Kutcher and Brittany Murphy that was directed by Shawn Levy. Despite negative reviews, the film was a success at the box office. The actor went on to portray Todd in the teen movie “Sleepover” (2004), which was directed by Joe Nussbaum and starred Alexa Vega and Sara Paxton. Luckinbill next worked with Kevin Sorbo, Joanna Canton and Rocky Carroll in the television film “Bobby Cannon” (ABC, 2005) and appeared in the short films “5 Stages of Grief” (2005), by Manuel Bermudez, and “The Shadow Effect” (2006), by Jared and Justin Varava. 2006 also saw him in an episode of “Nip/Tuck” called “Blu Mondae” and as a soldier in the dramatic film “Home of the Brave,” which was directed, produced and co-written by Irwin Winkler and starred Samuel L. Jackson, Jessica Biel, 50 Cent, Christina Ricci and Chad Michael Murray. He also guest starred as Timothy Johnson in the episode “Bang-Bang” (2006) of “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” the actor's first appearance on the show before he returned for a 2010 episode called “Blood Moon,” this time playing Michael Wilson. He then costarred in the TV film “Protect and Serve” (2007) with Dean Cain, Eric Balfour and Jessica Paré, the Susanne Robbins helmed comedy “The Essence of Depp” (2008), opposite Tammy K. Billings, Lydia Castro and Angie DeGrazia, and the crime movie “Once Fallen” (2010), starring Brian Presley, Taraji P. Henson and Ed Harris. He also guest starred in “Without a Trace” (2008, as Tim Collier), “Ghost Whisperer” (2009, as Dr. Troy Holdon/Grant Harper), “CSI: NY” (2 episodes, 2009 as Connor Dunbrook) and “CSI: Miami” (2010, as Dominic Cross). After leaving “The Young and the Restless,” in 2011 Luckinbill joined the cast of the CW series “Nikita” in the recurring role of Nathan Colville. He will also portray Will Randall in the upcoming TV film “Keeping Up with The Randalls,” starring Marnette Patterson, Kayla Ewell and Roma Downey.
