Franco-American actress Tania Raymonde is known for her performance in the ABC series “Lost” as Alex Rousseau (2006-2010), MTV's “Death Valley” as Officer Carla Rinaldi (2011) and the ABC Family teen drama series “Switched at Birth” as Zarra (2012-2013). She won a SoCal Independent Film Festival Award for her work in the film “The Garage” (2006) and a Breckenridge Festival of Film Award for “Trophy Kids” (2011). In 2015, she joined the TNT post-apocalyptic drama series “The Last Ship.”

Childhood and Family:

Tania Raymonde was born on March 22, 1988, in Los Angeles, California, as Tania Raymonde Helen Katz. Her mother is French and her father is American of Russian ancestry. She attended the Lycée Français de Los Angeles, where she got her French baccalauréat.

Tania Raymonde made her television debut in an episode of “Providence” called “Syd in Wonderland” (2000), playing Alice /Young Syd. She continued to appear in other TV series like “The Brothers Garcia” (2000), “The Nightmare Room” (2001), “That's So Raven” (2003) and “The Guardian” (2003). Between 2001 and 2002, she played the recurring role of Cynthia in the Fox sitcom “Malcolm in the Middle.” Raymonde's first regular role was as Lauren O'Keefe in the sitcom “The O'Keefes,” which premiered on The WB on May 22, 2003 and ended on June 12, 2003. Meanwhile, in 2002, she made her big screen debut in the independent film “Children on Their Birthdays,” in which she starred as Lily Jane Bobbit.  

In 2006, Raymonde played the role of Bonnie Jean / B.J. In the independent film “The Garage,”  which was written and directed by Carl Thibault. The film won many awards at various film festivals, and Raymonde herself picked up the Best Actress Award at the 2007 SoCal Independent Film Festival for her fine performance.

Also in that same year, Raymonde joined the cast of the ABC serial drama series “Lost,” playing Alexandra “Alex” Rousseau. She made her debut on the episode “Maternity Leave” of season 2, which aired on March 1, 2006, and her last appearance was in the 2010 episode “What They Died For.”

Raymonde also made guest appearances in “NCIS” (2005), “Medium” (2006), “The Cleaner” (2006), “CSI: NY” (2008), “Bones” (2009), “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” (2009), “Crash” (2009), and from 2008-2009, played the recurring role of Frankie Rafferty in “Cold Case.” She played Courtney in the Showtime series “Look” (2010). The actress added her film credits with appearances in “Japan” (2008), “The Other Side of the Tracks” (2008), “Foreign Exchange” (2008), “Elsewhere” (2009), “The Immaculate Conception of Little Dizzle” (2009), “Wild Cherry” (2009), “GoodSam and Max” (2009, Short) and “Chasing 3000” (2010).  

In 2011, Raymonde starred as Tiffany in the film “Trophy Kids,” directed by Josh Sugarman, and shared a Breckenridge Festival of Film for Best of the Fest, Ensemble Cast for her work. Among her co-stars in the film were Ryan Eggold, David Gallagher, Tahyna Tozzi, Nathan Lee Graham, Tibor Feldman, David Thornton and Chris Beetem. She starred as Officer Carla Rinaldi in the MTV mockumentary “Death Valley,” which lasted for a season of 12 episodes from August 29, 2011 to  November 21, 2011. The same year, she could also be seen making a guest appearance in “Hawaii Five-0” and playing roles on the films “Red Alert” (Short), “Chillerama” and “Losers Take All.”

Raymonde appeared as Sonia in three episodes of “90210” (2012) and portrayed Bay's friend Zarra in 10 episodes of the ABC Family teen drama series “Switched at Birth” (2012-2013). She  played Nicole in two episodes of “Chicago Fire” (2013) and had a one episodic stint in “Chicago P.D.,” “Intelligence” and “The Big Bang Theory” (all 2014). She also had roles on the films “Crazy Eyes” (2012), “Blue Like Jazz” (2012), “Hatching Max” (Short, 2012), “Texas Chainsaw 3D” (2013) and “Jodi Arias: Dirty Little Secret” (TV Movie, 2013).

Recently, in 2015, Raymonde played Valerie Raymond in three episodes of the TNT  post-apocalyptic drama series “The Last Ship” and appeared as Tina Ellis / Female Superhero in an episode of “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” called “Hero to Zero.” She starred in the drama film “Dirty Lies” with Katrina Begin and Bryan Callen.

Raymonde will play the role of Leslie Van Houten in the upcoming drama film “Manson Girls,”  directed and written by Susanna Lo. She will portray Brittany Gold in the made for TV film “Trial,” co-starring Maria Bello and Olivia Thirlby.
