clothing designer susan harris works in toronto from her queen street west studio, a neighbourhood she has called home for the past twenty years.

after studying fashion and pattern drafting at george brown and sheridan colleges, susan emersed herself in the industry, first working as a seamstress, pattern drafter and buyer, later becoming a specialist in reconstructing and restoring vintage couture.

that experience, coupled with her entrepreneurial intuition resulted in her continously evolving first line, susan harris design, conceived in 2001.

susan's clothes are highly recognizable: the use of recycled materials, notions, found text and images is what gives the label it's authenticity.

building on this concept, her clothing line has evolved and expanded to include sweaters, wool suits, coats, shawls, mittens, sleeves and a complete linen line of womens' ready to wear using new fabrics..

most recently, she has added a childrens' line of sweaters and t.shirts, and is presently designing a mens' line, to be launched in the fall.
