Toasting the Teens Background: With a good many films under her belt and movies that hit the video rental market, chances are she will continue to raise her fan count. Although not being in the "best movies ever made" bracket, she has created memorable characters such as Zoe Beanin in TV's serial Zoe, Cecile Caldwell in Cruel Intentions, Vivian Kensington in Legally Blonde and Jane Burns in the romantic comedy The Sweetest Thing. "I've always felt like a tomboy but especially beside Christina and
Cameron. God bless anyone who looks at the three of us in one frame and still finds me sexy." (in reference to the movie and her co-stars
in The Sweetest Thing) When older, Selma attended the University of Michigan and Kalamazoo College. Selma originally moved to New York in order to pursue photography. She earned her Screen Actor's Guild card at the Stella Adler Conservatory. In January of 2004, Selma married rocker Ahmet Zappa (Son of Frank Zappa) in a small, private wedding which included close family and friends. "I said, 'I need something to make sure that this is real,' a Ferrari
or something, and so he (Ahmet Zappa), gave me a highlighter pen. It was a yellow highlighter pen. He told me that his father, Frank
Zappa, had asked his mother to marry him with a pen." (in reference to Ahmet Zappa's wedding proposal) Selma's next important role came in the way of Cecile Caldwell in the movie Cruel Intentions (1999), earning her an MTV award for Best Kiss, shared with the film's star, Sarah Michelle Gellar. Selma's busy collage also includes: Amazon High (1999), Down to You (2000), Kill Me Later (2001), Storytelling (2001), Legally Blonde (2001), Highway (2002, The Sweetest Thing (2002), A Guy Thing (2003), Dallas 362 (2003), Hellboy (2004), Coast to Coast (2004), A Dirty Shame (2004), In Good Company (2004), and DeMarco Affairs (2004). Upcoming releases include: Gail in Pretty Persuasion, Abbey Gallagher in The Deal, and the movie, The Alibi (2005). Awards:
