Russ Tamblyn has been an actor and dancer, on stage, since he was a young child ---
and has also been an actor, on radio, from an early age. His first movie appearance
was in 1948 --- in the movie "The Boy With Green Hair".

A champion gymnast and acrobat, these abilities were perfect for Russ Tamblyn's
role as Gideon in "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" -- as well as for his roles in
such movies as "Tom Thumb", "Hit the Deck" and "West Side Story".

As well as appearing in many comedies and musicals, Russ Tamblyn has appeared
in drama movies. He is still acting -- with some of his most recent work being in
television series such as "Nash Bridges" and "Babylon 5". He also appeared in the
documentary television special: "The Making of 'Seven Brides for Seven Brothers' ".

Russ Tamblyn is the father of actress Amber Tamblyn, and they appeared together
in the movies "Rebellious" and "Johnny Mysto: Boy Wizard".
