 | Im 17 years old, and have watched this movie as a little kid millions of times. My dad LOVES this movie. I got so sick of it that each time we watched it, i was always "daydreaming" of other things.
I wanted to give him a good gift and get him his favorite movie. I automatically thought of this movie and bought it instantly.
Well, I decided to watch it. (now that im older, able to understand what all the "kids" are going through.) It really hits home for a teenager to be graduating because all your friends truely are leaving and going seperate ways.
Now that i understand the lines and plot, it has become my favorite movie. The DVD makes the movie easier to follow, it doesnt have a near black scene unlike the VHS where it is amazingly grainy and dark. They even put in a new sky for the opening scene. Go check it out.
This movie is a best buy for any car racing person. The story/plot hits home to just about everyone. If you had friends in highschool, this movie is for you. |

 | Before Lucas' world wide phemoneon was seen by millions, a box office classic hit he directed was seen in 1973, a film that read "where were you in 62" "American Graffiti" a fun drama showcasing the rock 'n' rollin and wild teen scene of 1962. Starring Richard Dreyfuss, Ron Howard and a breif appearance by Harrison Ford who as everyone knows would later be a space mercenary pirate and a wip cracking archeaologist for Lucas. The best teen movie I've ever seen and a very different one from American Pie and the Breakfast Club. it's about an era and the teens who experience it. a triumphfant classic that teens in 62 should be proud of. If you loved Star Wars then see Lucas' early american classic. |

 | "Where were you in '62?" Well, with me, I wasn't even born yet. Hehehehe.. American Graffiti, Lucas's second movie, is classy. With it's rich 60's music and Wolfman Jack's humor and rock-and-roll music, American Graffiti is a 9/10 movie! This has some humor and some drama with it too. The cars are so cute (sorry for that explanation). Really, the cars in this movie have it's 60's design. One of the characters (Harrison Ford) drives a 55' black Chevy. And it's just so funny with Han Solo instead of having first mate Chewy and flies the Millenium Falcom, he drives a 55' Chevy with his gal. Now the best thing about the film is the music! Prepare to R-A-R (rock and roll) with hit music from the 60's! The Beatles were still a mystery and years ago Buddy Holly died because of injuries from an Airplane crash! And the drugs made the 60's a dark time. Even though American Graffiti is a fun movie, we should think about those times.
Some teenagers spend their last night in a town. Each have their own adventures: From picking up girls all day, a race with Harrison Ford, putting shaving cream on some annoying peoples cars, to laughing at the comedies of Wolfman Jack, and when they go to collage. They are all so goofy and serious (rarely). Everytime they see a blonde, some of them offer to give her a ride home. I can't tell you more. It might be a spoiler, hehehehehe...... The movie was Rated PG for some weird stuff. But after Lucas's THX-1138 was released, then came the posters for American Graffiti.
"America's last age of innocence". Watch it again, again, and again! American Graffiti is sure to be a classic! Oh yeah, I gotta tell you this. When American Graffiti was released in the movie theaters of '73, it earned more than $100 Million worldwide! That's a lot of money guys. |

 | Yep! My pop was a baby boomer, so I grew up watching this film. Even though I was born in '78, I treasure everything about this amazing movie. Line for line, song for song, nothing is better crafted. Wish I could have been there!!! I've see it hundrends of times and even wrote George Lucas about it's significance, back when I was a teen. What did I get back??? An unsigned picture of him posing with none other than the heros of Star Wars! (Not that that wasn't exceptional either.) |
