A part of the prominent Kennedy family, Robert Shriver, a resident and City Councilmember in Santa Monica, California, is a lawyer and President of Beverly Hills music, film and philanthrophic company RSS Inc. In 1987, he began television production with a prime-time feature of the ''Special Olympics.''

The brother-in-law of actor/California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has executive-produced the action/thriller film "True Lies" (1994), as well as the TV movies "Black Cat Run" (1998) and "Mary, Mother of Jesus" (1999). He also also produced the "Very Special Christmas" series of albums.

Most recently, Shriver co-founded the organization Debt AIDS Trade in Africa (DATA) and launched Product RED alongside U2 frontman Bono.

Childhood and Family:

Grandson of prominent United States businessman and political figure Joseph P. Kennedy Sr. and his wife Rose Kennedy, Robert Sargent Shriver III, nicknamed Bobby Shriver, was born on April 28, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois. His parents are producer Eunice Kennedy Shriver, founder of the Special Olympics, and Robert Sargent Shriver Jr., former head of the Peace Corps and Vice-Presidential running mate to George McGovern during the 1972 presidential elections. His sister is Maria Shriver, journalist and the wife of California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. His uncles are John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy and Ted Kennedy, and his cousins are John Kennedy Jr., Caroline Kennedy, Rory Kennedy, Kerry Kennedy and Christopher Lawford.

Shriver attended and graduated from Yale University, where he became a member of Scroll and Key, and is a Yale Law School graduate and former part-owner of Baltimore Orioles.

Shriver has been married to Malissa Feruzzi since May 7, 2005.

Career:

A resident and City Councilmember in Santa Monica, California, Robert Shriver is an attorney and President of RSS Inc., a Beverly Hills music, film and philanthrophic company. In 1987, he entered television production with a prime-time feature of the ''Special Olympics,'' was founded by his mother in 1962, and have collected in excess of $55 million (in total with subsequent productions) for the Special Olympics program for disabled young people. He also has produced the "Very Special Christmas" series of albums.

In 1994, Shriver executive-produced James Cameron's action/comedy remake of the 1991 French film "La Totale!," "True Lies," which stars his brother-in-law Arnold Schwarzenegger. Four years later, he produced the action/mystery TV movie "Black Cat Run" (1998), starring Amelia Heinle, Patrick Muldoon, Rex Linn, and Jake Busey. He followed it up in the next year by executive-producing another made-for-television movie, "Mary, Mother of Jesus" (1999), starring Christian Bale.

Shriver guest starred in "The Howard Stern Radio Show" in February 2000, and then appeared in the documentary "The Last Editor" (2002), which chronicles the life and career of Jim Bellows, one of the most influential figures in American journalism of the 20th century.

Most recently, Shriver, alongside U2 frontman Bono, co-founded the organization Debt AIDS Trade in Africa (DATA) and launched Product RED, linking businesses with proceeds supporting the Global Fund.
