The Zack Files Background: Actor Robert Clark is perhaps best known for his roles on the TV series “The Zack Files” (2000-2002, as Zack Greenburg) and “Strange Days at Blake Holsey High” (2002-2006, as Vaughn Pearson). He earned a Young Artist Award for the first show and a Young Artist nomination for the latter. He won his second Young Artist Award for his supporting performance of Ryan Holton in the video release “Prancer Returns” (2001). Robert is the younger brother of actor Daniel Clark, who is famous for playing Sean on “Degrassi: The Next Generation.”
Childhood and Family: Robert Clark II was born on March 14, 1987, in Chicago, Illinois. In 1988, his mother moved the family to Boca Raton, Florida. After she remarried in 1991, they moved to Ontario, Canada. In Ontario, Robert joined the Belfountain Singers and performed in many live concerts. He attended the Randolph School for the Performing Arts and successfully completed the school's Kids Triple-Threat Musical Theatre Program. In addition to his brother Daniel, Robert has a half brother named Aaron Brown. His nicknames are Robbie and Trip B.
Career: Robert Clark made his professional acting debut in a television commercial for Honeycomb Cereal. In 1999, he landed a role on the movie “Superstar,” which starred Molly Shannon, Will Ferrell, Harland Williams, Elaine Hendrix, Tom Green and Mark McKinney. The same year, he also guest starred in the Canadian TV series “Twice in a Lifetime” and appeared in the TV film “Switching Goals,” starring Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Clark's big breakthrough arrived when he won the lead role of Zack Greenburg on the science fiction series “The Zack Files,” which revolved around a young boy who is a magnet for paranormal activity. The show premiered on Canada's YTV on September 17, 2000, and ran until May 5, 2002. It began airing in the U.S. on October 21, 2000. For his good acting, Clark picked up a 2001 Young Artist in the category of Best Performance in a TV Drama Series - Leading Young Actor. While working on the series, Clark also portrayed Steven Jr. in the made for TV film “Mary Kay Letourneau: All American Girl” (2000), starring Penelope Ann Miller, Artie in the Showtime movie “Rated X” (2000), which starred Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez, and Pete Drossos in the TV film adaptation “The Golden Spiders: A Nero Wolfe Mystery” (A&E, 2000), starring Maury Chaykin, Timothy Hutton, Bill Smitrovich and Mimi Kuzyk. In addition, he acted in the television films “The Ride” (2000, as Evan), “Sex, Lies & Obsession” (2001, as Ryan Thomas) and “Scar Tissue” (2002), and guest starred in the TV show “Real Kids, Real Adventures” (2000). He picked up his next Young Artist Award for his supporting role of Ryan Holton in the Christmas film “Prancer Returns,” which went straight to video. After the cancellation of “The Zack Files,” Clark landed the role of Vaughn Pearson on the Canadian science fiction series “Strange Days at Blake Holsey High,” which first aired in North America in October 2002 on NBC and Discovery Kids. The show ran until 2006 and Clark was nominated for a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Comedy Series - Guest Starring Young Actor in 2003 for his performance. In 2003, Clark was cast in the television film “Deathlands.” In 2005, he appeared as Seth Rafter in an episode of “Veronica Mars” called “M.A.D.” He then played Dick Ryan at sixteen in the 2005 film “The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio.” He next received a two episode role in “Life with Derek” (2007-2008) and starred as Tom in the Canadian comedy “Nonsense Revolution” (2008), which was directed and written by Ann Verrall.
