SummaryVan Damme was AXED by Hollywood for this Flop.

I am a Jean Claude Van Damme fan, but this movie "Knock Off"
ruinned Van Damme's career in 1998 which lead to his demise from the big screen across the country (USA). Since then, many of his movies have gone straight to video. All of his movies before had solid box office ticket sales, and yes there was a time in where his movies were shown across the country, and yes he appeared on the talk shows to talk about them, but those days are long gone. Knock off has a dumb plot, and the leading lady who is a nice African American woman was placed in a stupid light by the silly director. I have followed his career (Van Damme's)since the 80's when he used to appear on the "Arsenio Hall Show" but this is film that was made in order to generate huge dollars, failed big. It is obvious that Hollywood has never given Van Damme the credit that he deserves but he really did himself in with this picture. The picture has no order nor depth. People or should i say faithful fans of him will say that i am wrong but after 1998, his films are not shown on the screen at whatever cinema you go to here in the USA. Next, The former SNL Comedian star who appears here lacks chemistry with the lead actor, the two are mismatched. The relationship lacks chemistry, and this hurts the flow of the story. I don't recommened Knock off at all, but i do recommend Van Damme's "In Hell" which was directed by Ringo Lam. "In Hell" (2003)will have classic Prison fighting as compared to his "Kick boxing" style that he has used in past movies such as "Cyborg" and "Hard Target."
-------- "In Hell" in the eyes of blockbuster is considered a gem. ****True Fact*** it was stated on a fan site that Van Damme's dvd/video release dates are always jotted down by the major movie companies (companies who have Tom Cruise, Juliane Moore and Tom Hanks for example.)So when Van Dammes films are released so are the films of the A list celebrities. Any way, don't buy Knock off, instead rent it for a dollar at the video store in case you want to watch it but this is not classic Van Damme. For any new fan of Van Damme who wants to watch a great movie of his, i recommend the following: Lion Heart, Cyborg (very action packed), and In Hell. He was going to do a movie titled, "The Monk" but i don't know what happened there. I guess it did not get released,or made, i believe it was going to be directed by Ringo Lam(Diretor of the action packed In Hell, starring Jean Claude Van Damme(real name):Jean Claude Van Varenberg.) He was given this name back in the late 80's or early nineties, and this is what he was called, "The muscles from Brussels." He was born in the country Belgium.

SummaryHow did this movie flop?
Content
This was a really cool movie with great stunts, great comedy, and great camera views. This was plain and simply one of the best JCVD movies ever. I find amazing how this film, Leigonaire, and Universal Soldier:The Return all did not revive his career. It is a total mind F*** to figure this out. The plot was a little confusing at first but if you really pay attention you will get the idea of the movie.

Summaryhis funniest of roles!
Content
this is one of my favourite van-damme movies and its definatly his funniest!, his opening scene was classic!. This movie is pure fan martial arts action with plenty of comedy along the way. Van-damme should do more comedy, it suits him excellently.

still awaiting his return to theaters, go van-damme!!

Summaryanother Van Damme flop
Content
purely for fans of crappy Van Damme movies again like I says. really corny from beginning to end. Paul Sorvino is totally and utterly fat and moronic in this one. Rob Schnider is wasted and WHY THE HELL WAS HE IN THIS I will have no clue. Van Damme kicks more butt and does more corny things then he did in Double Team. with horrible dialouge and a plot that seems like it came from some guy wiping his ass with a piece of toilet paper and then saw it on the piece of paper and said HEY!!!! damnit, lets make a movie about this piece of crap right here.
