SummaryAMAZING

If you don't like a lot of cussing or white trash antics.this movie is not for you. This is one of my favorite movies EVER! Reese Witherspoon is amazing a vanessa lutz, a traumatized white trash child that still has hope for the future. She is hilarious! she speaks her mind and in one scene actually pretty wise.-when she talks to rhonda before they make out lol-
She has values and morals and just tries to do what she thinks is right...put down a serial killer before he has another chance to hurt another girl. She is actually believes in god even though she believes that he hates her for everything she has gone through.i can't possibly describe this movie...or try to convince anyone of how great it is.This girl is in a special ed class because of how slow she is.But she understands that she wants to live and that she deserves to be happy despite everything that she has gone through.Plus her cussing is funny as hell! Always fighting for her life and cussing people out.she excuses herself for her "bad language" in front of adults.i'm telling you..this girl is something.kick ass! that's what .haha.go rent it at least.

SummaryBoring "Low Rent" B movie...
Content
Don't believe the hype, this is not anywhere near as engrossing as similar dark comedies (Natural Born Killers, etc). It is a flat out BORING weak "B Movie", it is neither entertaining nor stylisticly creative. The only thing that saves it from getting Zero stars, is some generally good acting by most of the cast. Now I know why the movie is generally available in the "Bargain Rack" at most discount department stores.

SummaryOk, so it was supposed to look so amateurish...
Content
...as in home-made? And the actors doing such a horrible job was all a part of "Freeway" too? Bad picture, bad editing, going nowhere-storyline, hopeless characters, uncategorizable "b-movieish" non-entertaining minutes of rolling tape is what makes the reviwers here rate "Freeway" so high, as if it even was in the league of "Natural Born Killers"?

Have you even seen this movie?

Don't worry, I'm not a fan of "Legally Blonde" nor a big fan of any of these actors (well, perhaps of Sutherland for some of his early work) -but my girlfriend insisted to watch this on a rainy Saturday-night, and it felt like torture having to watch all those unsympathetic characters live life on the dark side of all things. I realize that life isn't fantastic for everyone, but would you call this realistic? Oh, and did the police there at the end of the movie forget that the "girl" (R.W) was involved in murder on two people as they fled from prison? They smile at eachother in the end, or did I miss something? The fact that the police would even investigate the Sutherland-character after the two female-convicts had escaped prison (and killed two people as mentioned) was the most fantastic part of the entire waste the movie was indeed!

Stay away from this!

SummaryHer Life Is No Fairytale!
Content
This is an interesting little tale of a 15 year old girl whose mom and stepfather were just arrested. Deciding that she wants to search and be with the grandmother she's never met... like a fairytale, although grandma lives in a trailer instead of a house. When she's on the freeway and her car breaks down... she's picked up by the man who first gains her trust, soon after ready to kill and torture her.
Reese Witherspoon is sensational in her breakthrough performance as the bad girl with her sourthern accent. Going on to becoming a star in movies such as Fear(Mark Wahlberg), Cruel Intentions(Ryan Phillippe), and Election(Matthew Broderick). Kiefer Sutherland as the demented man picking up Witherspoon along the freeway... did have a great maniacal character. One of his last greater films over his long career of acting, now recently seen on the tv show 24. Dan Hedaya who was funniest in Clueless(Alicia Silverstone), and A Night At The Roxbur(Will Ferrell) as the silly father. Does play a great humorous detective in Freeway. You do have an amazing supporting cast with actors like Amanda Plummer(Pulp Fiction) as Witherspoons mother. Brooke Shields(The Blue Lagoon) as Sutherlands protective wife. Bokeem Woodbine(Dead Presidents) in his short sad role as Witherspoons boyfriend. Finally Brittany Murphy(Don't Say A Word) playing a cell mate to Witherspoon in prison.
Matthew Bright for a director is very unknown, only directing four films, Freeway being his first. Going on to do the flop sequel Freeway 2... then going on to do the serial killer movie Ted Bundy(Michael Reilly Burke). Doing his last movie Tiptoes(Matthew McConaughey, Kate Beckinsale). So if you want to see this directors other work, here it is.
The action in this movie is somewhat at a low. Although you do get to see Witherspoon be one of the baddest white girls you'll ever see, verbally and physically... beating Sutherland to a bloody pulp. The comedy in this movie is completely built around Reese Witherspoons character... so if you like her, you'll love this movie. The blood and gore could've been better, but it's all noticable
When I first saw Freeway, I was shocked of how different it was... and how unique it was shown in every sequence. Seeing this 15 year old girl go through so much... keeping you highly entertained the entire time. This movie is not boring, it doesn't slow down, it doesn't get confusing... Freeway is the opposite, it's the best. Something you have to check out.

SummaryHOT!

I love modernized fairy tales like this - they need to make more fo these. The modern updated version of NEVERLAND (the twisted Peter Pan movie - NOT the Johnny Depp movie!) is another one of the greats. Reese is HOT!
