Rachel Roberts is one of top fashion models in the world and an actress. She has appeared in a number of ad campaigns and on the covers of “Elle,” “Glamour” and “Vogue,” among other magazines. She is well known for playing the titular character on the film “ S1m0ne” (2002), from which she picked up a Saturn nomination. Since the auspicious debut, she has amassed several acting credits, including a recurring role on the TV series “FlashForward” (2009-2010) and a supporting roel in the film “How to Seduce Difficult Women” (2009). She reunited with her husband for the 2011 film “In Time.”

Rachel Roberts was born on April 8, 1978, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Her mother, Lila, who was a former model, died of breast cancer in 1995. Her father, Ian, is a dentist. Rachel has a brother named Frank. She attended Magee Secondary School.

In 2002, Rachel was married to a New Zealand screenwriter, producer, and director, Andrew Niccol (born on June 10, 1964), whom she met on the set of “ S1m0ne.” The couple have two children, son Jack (born 2003) and daughter Ava Lila Rae Niccol (born January 30, 2008).

Career:

Rachel Roberts kicked off her career at age 16 in her hometown of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Her modeling career quickly blossomed, and by age 19, she had received many offers to do covers for magazines. Roberts shot for major publications such as “Elle,” “Vogue,” “Glamour,” “Marie Claire,” “ Harper's Bazaar” and the “Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue” of 2000.

Roberts's career gained further boost when became the official model of the skin-care line Biotherm as well as by posing in campaigns for labels such as Ralph Lauren, Bottega Venetta, Victoria's Secret, Gap, Mac & Jac, and Banana Republic. She has walked the catwalks for famous designers like Chloé, Valentino, Givenchy, Fendi, Blumarine, Roberto Cavalli, Comme des Garçons, Paul Smith and Balmain, among others.

Roberts branched out into acting in 2002 when she landed the title role on “S1m0ne” (2002), a science fiction/drama film directed, written and produced by future husband Andrew Niccol. She was nominated for a 2003 Saturn Award in the category of Best Supporting Actress for her performance. “S1m0ne” received mixed reviews from critics, and grossed $19,576,023 worldwide against a budget of $10 million. The cast also included Al Pacino, Catherine Keener, Winona Ryder and Rebecca Romijn. Roberts returned in 2004 when she played Nona in an episode of “Still Life” called “Gravity.” It was followed by guest spots in “ Ugly Betty” (2007, as Marla), “ Entourage” (2007, as Monika) and “Numb3rs” (2008, as Melissa Conroy) before resuming her film career by playing Sabrina in “How to Seduce Difficult Women” (2009), a comedy written and directed by Richard Temtchine and starring Louis-Do de Lencquesaing, Stephanie Szostak and Jackie Hoffman. Between 2009 and 2010, she played the recurring role of Alda Hertzog on the science fiction/drama series “ FlashForward,” an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Canadian science fiction writer Robert J. Sawyer.

Recently, Roberts played the role of Carrera in her husband's film, “In Time,” starring Amanda Seyfried, Justin Timberlake, Olivia Wilde, Johnny Galecki, Matt Bomer, Vincent Kartheiser, Elena Satine, Alex Pettyfer and Cillian Murphy. The film is set to be released on theaters on October 28, 2011.
