SummaryAin't nothing better!
Content
I was so glad to get the "Purple Rain" 2 disc anniversary DVD! I'm finally writing a review although I ordered it last August when it came out. Anyhow, I look at this DVD at least once a week, it's like my weekly dose of Prince. The acting isn't all that great, but who cares Prince is looking sexy, and the music is sounding good too! Plus in my eyes Prince can do no wrong. This is a must own for all Prince fans. The part were his dad slaps the ish out of him is real funny!! His performance of "Darling Nikki" is one of my favorites in this movie.

SummaryBonus CD should have been the Concert !
Content
Movie and DVD quality of picture and sound are awesome. My complaint is for the 20th anniversary this DVD bonus disk 2 should have been the Prince and the Revolution Live (1985) concert, which is currently available only on VHS. If they had included this as the "bonus" disk 2, it would have been perfect. That would make a great set, and I can't believe they did not do that!

Summary20 years later, Purple Rain still amazes
Content
For the 20th anniversary of it's release, Warner Brothers re-released the classic "Purple Rain" on DVD in two disc form. It was a breath of fresh air compared to the previous and more boring DVD that had almost no features. "Purple Rain" is a semi-autobiographical tale about Prince's journey to fame. It is almost identical to Eminem's "8 Mile" and still holds it's own today as one of the greatest rock films ever. This DVD was packed with featurettes, music videos, the trailer and the ultra rare 1984 MTV premiere party. The film was also remastered and takes you back to 1984 to re-live the magic. "Purple Rain" is a must see!
