Background:
Penny Lancaster is a British model and photographer. She is perhaps
best known for her modeling work for designer lingerie brand Ultimo.
Dating since 1999, Lancaster eventually married British
singer/songwriter Rod Stewart (born January 10, 1945) in June 2007
after Stewart's divorce from model Rachel Hunter was finalized in
2006 . The couple have two sons together, Alistair Wallace (born 2005)
and Aiden Stewart (born 2011). Lancaster had a long term relationship
with city trader Mickey Sloan throughout the 1990s. The two lived in
Bermuda from 1996 to 1998 before breaking up in 1999.

Childhood and Family:
Penny Lancaster was born on March 15, 1971, in Chelmsford, Essex,
England. Her parents, Graham and Sally, were both great gym goers
throughout her childhood and boosted her love for fitness. His brother,
Oliver, is a fitness instructor. Penny started taking dance lessons
when she was six years old. She learned tap, modern and ballet
simultaneously until at age 16 when she decided to quit because of her
height. She then turned her attention to aerobics, and became a
certified fitness trainer six years later. It was around this
period when she was discovered by a modeling scout who suggested she
should see a career in modeling.
In late 1990s, Penny had the opportunity to meet singer Rod Stewart who
offered to let her take photos of him whilst on tour.
The two began dating shortly afterwards, which caused an ample
tabloid curiosity because Stewart had recently gone through a highly
public split from wife Rachel Hunter. At the time, Penny also had just
separated from her long time lover Mickey Sloan.
On March 9, 2005, Stewart proposed the Brit beauty at the top of the
Eiffel Tower. Penny gave birth to their first child, son Alistair
Wallace Stewart, on November 27, 2005. The couple married on June 16,
2007 at La Cervara near Portofino, Italy. They welcomed their second
son, Aiden Stewart, on February 16, 2011.

Career:
Penny Lancaster wanted to become a professional dancer when she was a
child, but discarded her dreams when a then 16 year old girl found out
that she was too tall. She subsequently made the switch to aerobics,
and just as she became a certified fitness trainer, Lancaster was
approached by a model scout, and soon embarked on a career as a model.
In 1998, she decided to learn the other side of modeling and stated
taking photography classes. It was through photography that she
eventually met husband Rod Stewart.
Lancaster gained boost when she was hired as the face of designer
lingerie brand Ultimo for a reported £200,000 in 2002. Despite
her success at promoting the brand and rising its profile in the
UK, her contract was not renewed when it ended in 2004. In the
meantime, she also worked as a photographer for “Hello!
Magazine.”
Barely flustered by her want of modeling work, Lancaster turned to her
other passion, aerobics, and created a fitness DVD
called “Ultimate Body Workout” (2003). The training tape,
which detailed her years of knowledge as a fitness trainer, sold
extremely well. Around this time, she sang and danced in
“Tonight's The Night,” a musical based on Rod Stewart's
hits, for a charity event.
In 2005, Lancaster led a line of hair removal products called
“Hot Legs,” Stewart's nickname for her and the title of one
of his many hit songs.
In 2007, Lancaster became one of 14 celebrities to participate on
“Strictly Come Dancing Series Five,” a British television
show featuring celebrities with professional dance partners competing
in Ballroom and Latin dances. She and her partner, Ian Waite, were
voted off in the Week 6.
