British actress Nikki Sanderson is best recognized for her portrayals of Candice Stowe in the television soap opera “Coronation Street” (1999-2005), Dawn Bellamy in “Heartbeat” (2008-2009) and Maxine Minniver on “Hollyoaks”(2012-?), from which she picked up a nomination at the 2014 British Soap Awards and the 2015 National Television Awards, UK.   

Sanderson was in relationship with her “Coronation Street” co-star Danny Richardson-Young from 2005 to February 2009. In August 2012, it was reported that she was romancing Queens Park Rangers footballer Anton Ferdinand.

Coronation Street


Nikki Sanderson made her television debut in the British soap opera “Coronation Street.” There she played the role of Candice Stowe from November 5, 1999 to November 7, 2005.

Sanderson also appeared as Abbie in the children's drama “Children's Ward” (2000) and in 2003, she reprised her role as Candice Stowe in an episode of “TV Burp.” In the following year, she hit fitness DVD “Coronation Street - Funk fit.” She again played Candice in the 2005 TV film “Coronation Street: Pantomime.”  
After departing “Coronation Street,” Sanderson appeared as Monica Southworth in an episode of “Holby City” (2006), Tiffany in two episodes of “Strictly Confidential” (2006), Natalie Bucklethwaite in an episode of “The Afternoon Play” (2007), Sammy Dean in three episodes of “New Street Law” (2006-2007) and Lara in an episode of the TV miniseries “Interference” (2007).

Outside of acting, Sanderson graced the cover of Maxim magazine in August 2005 and  the cover of FHM in June 2006. She also has appeared on the cover of Loaded Magazine. She was signed up by hip sports fashion footwear brand KangaROOS to star in their new print advertising campaign for 2006 and 2007.

Sanderson starred as Dawn Bellamy on the series final of the ITV1 series “Heartbeat” (2008-2009), opposite  Derek Fowlds, William Simons, Tricia Penrose, David Lonsdale, Peter Benson, Steven Blakeley, John Duttine, Gwen Taylor, Lisa Kay, Clare Wille, Joe McFadden and Rupert Ward-Lewis. She portrayed the part of Audrey in the horror film “Boogeyman 3” (2008) and was cast as Gee Gee, Dance Teacher, in “Clubbed” (2008), an underworld drama film set in the early 1980s. In 2010, Sanderson rook part in the UK tour of “The Vagina Monologues.”  

In 2012, Sanderson joined the cast of the Channel 4 soap opera “Hollyoaks” in the regular role of Maxine Minniver, a sweetheart. Announced in September 2012, she made her first screen appearance on November 6, 2012. The role has brought Sanderson a 2004 British Soap nomination for Best Actress and a 2015 National Television nomination for Most Popular Serial Drama Performance.

Sanderson also appeared in an episode of “Casualty” and “Crime Stories” (both in 2012). In December of that year, she appeared in pantomime as Peter Pan at the Gracie Fields Theatre in Rochdale.
