SummaryEwwww
Content
Bewitched is not funny. Kidman is annoying and Ferrel is misscast. His Darren isnt funny at all because it relies on 50s humor. The plot is as thin as paper and the spin of actor playing actors playing the characters isnt genious. Carell is great though, the only shining star in the movie.

SummaryCute movie with average humour.
Content
Remakes are flying this summer huh with the average "The longest Yard", the flat "The honeymooners" and this which is just another average remake.

The Plot-Nicole kidman plays a witch named Isabel who gets chosen to play a role of the famous witch who lives in a human world for an updated version of the show "Bewitched" alongside a crazy raving ego-manaic actor who craves all the attention played by Will Ferrell.

The Negatives-This movie has a little too much "cheese factor" it's sometimes a little too innocent and a little too immature.
For some reason i felt like i was watching an episode of sabrina the teenage witch as this movie was so clean cut.

Will Ferrell Is Annoying/Not funny- his true comedic form comes out when he finds out Isabel is a witch and and thats at almost at the ending of the movie.
During the movie he's pretty flat, and really shows no comedic performance, he's just very annoying and immature and the way he trys to get laughs is for example throwing himself on the bed and whining and chasing isabel in a hollywood studio cart and acting like a big baby.
It seems that Will ferrell was trying to get by in this movie on charm alone and he figures will ferrell fans will laugh at anything he does anyway.

The Positives-This movie is cute, there is a scene of Isabel walking down a food aisle in a supermarket and her father(Michael Caine) takes the form of food mascots on the items themselves(for example he talks in the yellow raincoat as he is the gordans fisherman).
I laughed at the magic done is this movie because everybody wishes they can turn the clock back 5 minutes when breakfast is no longer being served at mcdonalds. Or if you really loved someone and you could cast a spell on them and then they were head over heels in love with you back. It's things like that in this movie that you see and make it a watchable movie.

Conclusion-This movie blends Magic with humour and that alone seems to carry this movie since Will Ferrell's performance is annoying and not funny.

So 2.5 stars rounded up to 3 stars out of 5

The Opinionated One has Spoken.

SummaryA lost opportunity
Content
After hearing mixed reviews, took the plunge and went to see Bewitched ... it is an hour and a half of my life that I will never get back. I admit that the first 15 minutes I quite enjoyed it, but then it quickly went silly and pear-shaped after that, failing to recover. The main problem is that Will Ferrell was painfully annoying throughout. Nicole was ok, although when she portrayed Samatha Stephens duing the TV scenes, Samatha came across as dumb and silly. This is not how Samantha was portrayed in the original TV series, in fact the total opposite. Liz Montgomery's character was of a smart, modern woman who often disputed the expectations of housewives in the 1960's. Nicole's characters of both Isabel and Samatha totally went against all these principles which is odd considering it is set in modern times.

The official Bewitched TV series website actually supported this film ... that was another shock to me. The movie is far from being a compliment to the original TV show.

Unfortunately, a wasted opportunity here. Nora Ephron has had a series of dud movies, so it's a shame she was given the job. She has once again proven that she is not the right person for the job. DOn't waste your money on this, it is an insult to anyone's intelligence.

Summarycharming twist on nostalgia
Content
When I first heard that there was going to be a movie version of "Bewitched," my stomach made disgusting flips. There was something so sweet, innocent and endearing about the 60s TV show. Despite its obvious and overt involvement in witchcraft, Elizabeth Montgomery had the beauty and sweetness to make the "dark art" appear to be sanctioned somewhere in the book of Leviticus. I grew up wishing Paul Lynde (Uncle Arthur) was my uncle and that I had a sweet aunt like dear Aunt Clara... and was grateful that I never lived next to a Gladys Kravitz.

How on earth could anyone bring this cast back from the dead (literally) and capture the sweetness thereof? In this clever twist, Will Ferrell is a well-known, but washed-up actor who has been in one of the worst, money-losing flops in movie history given an opportunity to bring the beloved 1960s sit-com back to the small screen. Eager to be the only one in the spotlight and regain his lost glory, he "discovers" an unknown to be his co-star. Nikole Kidman somehow channels Elizabeth Montgomery - just as charming, sweet and beautiful as the former "Bewitched" star.

There is some language here and there, but there is a charming innocence to this film that just isn't seen in most of what Hollywood offers to adults outside of animated fare or cheesy talking animal flicks.

Ferrell shines as a pitiful pup falling for the innocent, but truly witchy Kidman. Shirley MacLaine is the perfect as the actress portraying Endora and there is clever and sweet dialogue throughout.

I remember reading a review shortly after this film debuted that was titled, "No amount of magic can save this film." I cannot disagree more. I really had no interest in seeing this film, assuming it was a doomed failure from its conception. Upon the urging of friends, I joined them to see this on the big screen and I was truly delighted by the uncanny innocence and the way the film enjoys ribbing itself.

If you're raising your kids to avoid Harry Potter and any other inklings of witchcraft, this is certainly not family fare... but for adults who are tired of having their eyes besieged by sexual antics, toilet humor and violence, this film is a nice retreat. There are no pre-marital bed-hopping scenes, language is comparable to prime-time TV (for what that's worth!), and other than some cute slapstick, no one gets shot, cut or obliterated. A sweet romance and knee-slapping funny scenes.

SummaryBewitched
Content
Bewitched was a great movie. It wasn't the bebst ever but it was good. Towards the end it got a little boring but........ a lot of movies are like that. It was not really like the real show Bewitched but thats ok!
Bewitched is focused about a witch (Nicole Kidman) who wants to quit being a witch and wants to have a normal life. Of course she is clueless about having a normal life. When a has-been director wants to make a remake of the famous TV show 'Bewitched' he needs to find the girl who will stay quiet and let him rule the show. He finds the witch and casts her as Samantha in the TV show. The witch then finds herself falling for the director (Will Ferrel) until she figures out the real him, she decides to get back at him whichever way she wants.
In conclusion, Bewitched was good but also got boring. I think they could delete all the parts of them dating because it is boring watching them do that.
