American actress Nicola Peltz is best known for her roles as Katara in the film “The Last Airbender” (2010) and as Tessa Yeager in the fourth Transformers film, “Transformers: Age of Extinction” (2014), from which she won the CinemaCon Rising Star Award. On television, she is recognized for playing Bradley Martin in the A&E critically-acclaimed series “Bates Motel” (2013-2015).      

Peltz was considered one of the 55 faces of the future by Nylon Magazine's Young Hollywood Issue.


Childhood and Family:

Nicola Peltz was born on January  9, 1995, in Westchester County, New York, as Nicola Anne Peltz. Her father, Nelson Peltz, is a billionaire businessman and a philanthropist, and her mother, Claudia, is a former model. She has an Austrian Jewish and Russian Jewish descent from her father's side and has a German, Welsh, and English ancestry from her mother's side. Nicola has four older brothers, two younger brothers, and a sister. One of her siblings is actor Will Peltz. As a child, Nicola played Ice Hockey. Her nickname is Nicky.

The Last Airbender


Nicola Peltz made her film debut in 2006 by playing Mackenzie in “Deck the Halls,” a family comedy film set during the Christmas season in Massachusetts. The film starred Danny DeVito, Matthew Broderick, Kristin Davis, and Kristin Chenoweth and was directed by John Whitesell. In the following year, she debuted on stage opposite Jeff Daniels and Alison Pill in the Laurence Olivier Award-winning production of “Blackbird,” directed by Joe Mantello.

Peltz was cast as Becki in the comedy film “Harold” (2008), starring Spencer Breslin, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Nikki Blonsky, Ally Sheedy and Stella Maeve, and appeared in the Al Pacino and Robert De Niro starring vehicle “Righteous Kill” (2008). The same year, she starred in the Miley Cyrus video for the song “7 Things.”

In 2010, Peltz played the role of Katara in the fantasy adventure film “The Last Airbender,” opposite Dev Patel and Jackson Rathbone. The film, which was written, directed and produced by Shyamalan, is based on the first season of Nickelodeon's animated series “Avatar: The Last Airbender” (2005). Despite negative reviews, the film enjoyed a big commercial success. Peltz  was nominated for a Razzie  for Worst Supporting Actress for her work on the film.

In 2012, Peltz played the lead role of Renee Kyte in “Eye of the Hurricane,” a drama directed and written by Jesse Wolfe.

Peltz was cast in the television series “Bates Motel” as Bradley Martin, a kind, attractive and popular classmate of Norman (played by Freddie Highmore). The series, which is a modern re-imagining and prequel to the 1960 Alfred Hitchcock cult classic, “Psycho” (1960), premiered on A&E on March 18, 2013.    

In 2014, Peltz played the role of Tessa Yeager, Cade's daughter who is secretly dating Shane, on “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” the fourth installment of the live-action “Transformers” film series and also originally a reboot in early development. She was nominated for a Teen Choice for Choice Movie: Breakout Star and a Young Hollywood for Breakthrough Actress as well as won a CinemaCon for Rising Star (shared with: Jack Reynor) for her work on the film. The role also brought her a Razzie nomination for Worst Supporting Actress. Despite the negative reviews, “Age of Extinction” was a massive box office success by grossing over $1.104 billion worldwide.

Also in 2014, Peltz starred in the drama film “Affluenza” opposite Ben Rosenfield, Gregg Sulkin and Grant Gustin. The film  is loosely based on The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Peltz will play Annie Gleason in the forthcoming comedy/drama film “Youth in Oregon” (2016), directed by Joel David Moore. Among her co-stars in the film are Frank Langella, Billy Crudup, Christina Applegate, Josh Lucas, Mary Kay Place, and Alex Shaffer.
