Jordan Spieth's awesome 2015 season in 15 unbelievable stats He was burned out. That was the rumor about 22-year-old Jordan Spieth, who went 1-1-4-T2 at the four majors this year, before missing two cuts to start everyone’s least favorite sports playoff, The FedEx Cup. But despite that slow start, Spieth roared back with a T13 last week and then a win in the year’s final event — The Tour Championship that helped him set a single-season money record, among other marks. Here are some fabulous facts about Spieth’s historic 2015, which started out with him as a young up-and-comer with no majors and finished with him as the undisputed greatest player in the world having one of the best seasons golf has ever seen.

1. In total winnings this year (minus the $10 million FedEx prize), Spieth made $12.0 million, which was $1 million more than the previous record holder. That was, you guessed it, Vijay Singh in 2004. (?!) Singh, not Tiger? That’s probably more a function of Tiger’s selectivity in playing events.

2. Overall, Spieth has made $31 million in his PGA career, the most in history (by far) at his age. And in case you hadn’t heard, he’s only 22!

3. Including the $10 million from the FedEx Cup bonus, here’s the breakdown for Spieth’s financial year (via Jamie Kennedy):

• Won $22,030,465

• Earned $881,219 per event

• Made $259,346 per round

• Received $13,908 per hole

• Was paid $3,623 per shot

4. Spieth is the youngest player to win five times in a season since Horton Smith (age 21) in 1929. Smith beat Vijay Singh a bunch that year, I think.

5. On Sunday alone, Spieth won $11.485 million. That’s double what Jack Nicklaus earned in his career and six times what Arnold Palmer won on the course. But comparing prize money over eras is worthless, as purses have grown exponentially. It’s like saying Entourage made more money than The Wizard of Oz. It’s apples and vapid oranges that say the word “baby bro” a lot. So let’s compare over eras: Spieth made more on Sunday than major champions Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel have in their careers. But they played a lot on the European Tour so, again, not exactly a great comparison. Let’s go with this then: Spieth won more on Sunday than Billy Horschel has made in his entire career.

6. Also, Spieth’s season winnings are more than Rickie Fowler has made in his career.

7. Spieth is the youngest player to win two majors in 93 years....
