School's a Lott of fun! Pixie launches fame academy to give kids a chance SINGER Pixie Lott is on the hunt for the stars of the future – by opening her own showbiz school.

The Strictly Come Dancing star reckons Britain is bursting with talented young singers, songwriters, actors and dancers who just need a helping hand to get their big break.

“It’s nice to give other people an opportunity,” explains the star. “I get really excited about young talent and it’s something which really inspires me.

“That’s why I wanted to do this. And whenever I have time on a Saturday, I will 100% be here.”

We joined Pixie, 23, at the open day for the school, in Chelmsford, Essex – near her family home in Brentwood – where kids were queuing up to enrol for the classes, which start in January.

And it’s a real family affair for the Mama Do star, who is launching the venture with sister Charlie-Ann and mum Beverley.

“It’s nice to spot any future superstars and help them get on their way,” explains Pixie.

“And I’ve already seen some that could be good with a bit of training. I joined in one of the singing classes and asked if anyone wanted to sing a solo. One of the girls was nervous but I said to her: ‘Just relax, chill out, it’s fun’.

“Her voice was very good and I sang with her afterwards because she was really freaking out. If you want to take it seriously, you have to get used to singing in front of people. The more you do it, the more you get used to it.”

But Pixie is keen to stress it’s not full of stage school brats and pushy mums – it’s somewhere kids can just come and enjoy themselves without pressure.

She says: “You can take it in a serious way like I wanted to do, but you can also have kids who just want to come on a Saturday, make friends, build their confidence.

“The emphasis is on fun and enjoyment for everyone, but if kids want to take it seriously, they can do that.”

It’s even an associate school for the prestigious Italia Conti, which has produced stars including Kelly Brook, Sadie Frost, Karen Gillan and, of course, Pixie herself....
