'The Voice' Recap: Usher & Shakira Lose Two Of Their Best Singers ‘The Voice’ celebrated an exciting night, welcoming Gwen Stefani, as a coach for next season, but the show also suffered losing two amazing singers. Keep reading to find out which standouts were sent home for good.

The Voice gets tougher each week. The Top 10 was dwindled down to just eight contestants, and a major frontrunner was sent home. Click to see which singers Shakira and Usher lost.

Carson Opens The Show With Exciting News — Gwen Stefani Is Joining ‘The Voice’ As A Coach!

Carson Daly kicked off the daunting elimination show with some very exciting news — Gwen Stefani is officially joining the next season of The Voice! Adam Levine and Blake Shelton will also return for Season 7, alongside new coach Pharrell Williams. Christina Aguilera will also return for Season 8!

Before moving onto the eliminations, Usher took the stage with his singers Bria Kelly & Josh Kaufman to perform Lenny Kravitz‘s “Always On The Run.” Of course, Bria killed it with her raspy voice, and Josh rock-and-rolled, holding his own next to Usher!

The Top 10 Gets Cut Down: Who Is Safe?

Onto some more good news: the first two singers to be saved! Christina Grimmie from Team Adam was the first standout to be sent onto the next round — no surprise here because she was amazing on the April 28 live show with her rendition of Drake‘s “Hold On, We’re Going Home.”

Next was Sisaundra Lewis! Sisaundra is one of the strongest in the competition and is definitely one of the singers to beat. Adam even complimented her during last night’s live show, joking that she blew the roof off of the building!

Kristen Merlin from Team Shakira was also saved by America! We’re so happy that Kristen wasn’t cut. Remember how professional she was when her microphone broke during the first live show?

Team Usher was up next, and Josh Kaufman was the next contestant to move on!

Giving viewers (and the contestants) a brief moment of enjoyment, Shakira took the stage with her two singers, Tess Boyer and the recently safe Kristen Merlin. The three ladies rocked it out!

After the girl-powered performance, another lady was deemed safe: Audra McLaughlin from Team Blake!

America also saved Team Adam’s Delvin Choice!

Jake Worthington from Team Blake is also moving on. Blake stood up to give Jake a hug. Unfortunately, that left Tess Boyer, Kat Perkins and Bria Kelly in the bottom three....
