Jennifer Aniston threw a star-studded pre-Christmas party at her posh California home over the weekend - and one special guest was Gwyneth Paltrow.

And if you weren't thinking was particularly odd, remember back to the old days - they have both been given rings by Brad Pitt.

Jen was married to the hunk, while Gwynnie was engaged to him back in the '90s, but there were no hard feelings, or evil looks dished out from the punch bowl, where these two are concerned.

Gwyneth turned up to the bash with hubby Chris Martin, who she recently celebrated her 10th wedding anniversary with, and the duo chatted away with the likes of Robert Downey, Jr., Tobey Maguire, Isla Fisher, Jason Bateman and Jen's best pals, Courteney *** and Chelsea Handler.

Jen and Gwyn put any potential rivalry in the past years ago, when they rumoured to have bonded by chatting about Brad over the phone.

However, their shared publicist insisted: "The reports of Jennifer and Gwyneth burning up the phone lines is just another tabloid fabrication....
