Queen drummer Roger Taylor says We Will Rock You musical is 'crass' Roger Taylor, the drummer for Queen, says the musical 'We Will Rock You' based on the band's songs is crass.

It is one of the most successful musicals, and is in its 11th year in the West End, but the charms of We Will Rock You appear to be lost on Roger Taylor.

The show is based on the songs of Queen, for whom Taylor is the drummer, but he says: “The story is … slightly crass. But I think it has its good points.”

He adds: “I do have an aversion to musical theatre, so it hasn’t been easy, but I’ve learned to live with the musical.”...
