SummaryPassable entertainment, hot girl-on-girl scene
Content
I'd always been curious about "Wild Things", having seen it on display in my local Blockbuster for so long. Finally, I picked it up the other day, piqued by the "unrated" label on the box.

I won't bore you with a long review. Let me just say this is passable entertainment, with a star-studded cast whose collective talent is somehow wasted -- and they all look wasted in this movie. The plot is not as convoluted as the Amazon.com reviewer says, although it's not believable, either. This is a who-dun'-it murder mystery that will in the end confirm your suspicion -- after you enjoy some nice shots of Richard's hot body and a girl-on-girl sex scene.

The first half of the movie is more interesting than the second half, with faster pace and better acting. I had to labor through the second half, almost feeling tempted to fast-forward a few times.

If you've got other movies you want to see, don't rush to get this one; you ain't missing out on anything. But if you've got a couple hours with nothing to do and absolutely want to watch a movie with sexiness, this might be a movie to get for that.

SummaryIt's ok....
Content
I watched this movie, even though I heard it was made mostly to entertain the males. It was actually pretty good until the whole threeway scene and pool scene. Is it me or does Hollywood always have to add lesbianism to get attention? Why not put Matt and Kevin in a shower together and kissing? Make things even.

Anyhow, the movie had some suspense but after you watch it over and over, it gets really boring. The ending was stupid, and Denise Richards can't act. Neve didn't really play a good bisexual chick and i'm pissed they didn't show more of Kevin. Overall, it's cool to watch this movie once and only once. Go rent it instead.

SummaryCute Girls Die - Avoid!
Content
Cute girls are murdered in this movie. It doesn't matter how well-written or well-acted this movie is. Cute girls should never be killed. It's depressing. Avoid this movie and buy something else.

SummaryLoses it at the half-mark
Content
"Wild Things" promises to be a guilty pleasure, but by its second half becomes the movie you thought people had long ago learned to stop making.

The "Things" of the title are rich Kelly (Denise Richardson) and Suzie (Neve Campbell) - students who work to the undoing of Sam Lombardo, their guidance counselor. Living in a south-Florida town where life looks pretty nice even for those without huge houses or hot cars, Lombardo is well-liked by everybody who knows him. Unfortunately, since Lombardo is played by Matt Dillon, he's bound to get into trouble. When Kelly accuses Lombardo of rape, his life begins to unravel - mostly because Kelly's family is one of the richest in the area. Lombardo's luck goes from bad to worse when Kelly's allegations are substantiated by Suzie, who lives in a trailer park in what looks like a particularly swampy tract of the Everglades. (Having no apparent connection to Kelly, Suzie also claims to have been raped by Lombardo, and critically offers the same explanation for the lack of...er...physical evidence of the crime.) By his trial, Lombardo faces certain doom - until Suzie recants, and implicates Kelly for perjury. Lombardo is cleared of rape - then extorts a massive settlement from Kelly's mom.

Up until then, "Wild Things" is a guilty pleasure - not so much because of what it is, but what it promises. The first half is so-over-the-top, you're led to believe the second will somehow justify its suspension of your disbelief (for the talent on hand, the acting is pretty bad; and Matt Dillon as a righteous guidance counselor - what's up with that?). Rather than compensate for the outrage of the first half, "Things" just ramps it up. Unsurprisingly, a bigger conspiracy than perjury links our characters - and Lombardo's hard-won money guarantees to set Kelly and Suzie against each other and the rest of southern Florida. Unfortunately, the script begins tossing twists so fast, you begin to get punch-drunk on their surprise. (You haven't had time to take the last twist seriously before another is dropped in your lap.) None of the characters is what they seem - though pretty soon, they stop seeming like anything. About the only thing that remains unchanged was how much fun I thought I was having in the first part. While this flick worked hard on the tangled web between Lombardo, Suzie & Kelly, the high point is actually the (sadly) brief appearance of Bill Murray as Lombardo's sleazy attorney.
