SummaryDream a little Dream
Content
Black Stallion holds this magical spot in my heart, because it is the movie that made me realize what true beauty on film could look like. I was 6 years old when this came out , and I remember my heart beating so hard when the ship was sinking and when he finally got onto the horse and they were just going at high speed on the beach, I will always think of Mickey Rooney in this roll because it's the first I remember him being in. I wasn't a horse girl growing up, I liked them, but it was my sister who took lessons and had hundreds of the plastic ones in her room, I was the one into Pegasus and Unicorns, but this movie appealed to me because it was pure childhood magic. It's a timeless film, and I cannot wait to show it to my kids one day.

SummaryOne of the Best Movies Ever
Content
This is not just one of the greatest horse movies ever filmed; it is one of the best movies of any kind ever filmed!

With the exception of the very beginning, the entire first twenty minutes of the movie has no dialogue at all, the camera tracking the growing relationship of a shipwrecked boy and horse. Seldom has there been a film that so trusts the camera to tell the story; and it does so perfectly.

The rest of the film is equal to its beginning. Filled with emotional depth and moments of thrilling adventure, this is a movie that will reach almost anyone who watches, regardless of age or background. In our family, it has become an annual event, with or without our children or grandchildren present. What is truly wonderful is that every time we watch, we find something new, something that we have missed in previous viewings, that add even more to the experience.

It's wonderful.

SummaryDelightful movie
Content
If you are a fan of the Black Stallion books, horses, and/or beautiful film-making, this movie will be sure to delight. Francis Ford Coppola lovingly transforms this wonderful book into a movie that is a feast for the eyes. The film-making and cinematography are spectacular. My kids (3 and 7) adore this movie, as do I.
