Michelle Hunziker is a Swiss Italian television presenter, actress, singer and model. She is known for her roles on films such as “Voglio stare sotto al letto” (1999), “The Protagonist” (1999), “Natale in crociera” (2007), “Natale a Rio” (2008) and “Christmas in Beverly Hills” (2009). Hunziker was nominated for Favorite Show Host - Female at the 2006 Romy Gala, Austria Awards for  her work on “Echo - Deutscher Musikpreis” (2001) and for Favorite Entertainer at the 2011 Romy Gala, Austria Award for “Wetten, dass..?”.

Hunziker was married to  Italian singer Eros Ramazzotti from 1998 to 2009. They have one daughter together. Hunziker also has one daughter with her fiance, the Trussardi-hair Tomaso Trussardi.    


Childhood and Family:

Michelle Hunziker was born Michelle Yvonne Hunziker on January 24, 1977, in Sorengo, Ticino, Switzerland, to a Dutch mother and a Swiss father (painter). She grew up in Ostermundingen, canton of Berne, Switzerland, the same village that Ursula Andress is from, and attended elementary school there. She later moved with her mother to Milan.

On December 5, 1996, at 19, Michelle gave birth to her first child, daughter Aurora Sophie Ramazzotti. The child's father is singer Eros Ramazzotti. Michelle and Eros eventually married on April 24, 1998. The couple later divorced on March 25, 2009. Michelle gave birth to her second child,  daughter Sole Trussard, on October 10, 2013. Child's father is her boyfriend, Tomaso Trussardi.

Michelle Hunziker decided to become a fashion model following her move to Milan. Hired by a famed agent, Riccardo Gay, she landed gigs for notable labels such as Armani, Fuerte Ventura, Rocco Barocco, La Perla, Colmar, Lovable and Swish. After two years of modeling, Hunziker ventured into television hosting. In 1996, she co-hosted the Rai Uno-show “I cervelloni,” with Paolo Bonolis. She also presented the prime time comedy show “Paperissima Sprint” (Canale 5) with Gabibbo in 1996 and    then hosted the afternoon show “Colpo di Fulmine” (Italia 1) in 1997. She added acting to her endeavors in 1998 with a role as Tiziana in the TV miniseries “La forza dell'amore” (Canale 5).   

In 1999, Hunziker made her feature film debut in “Voglio stare sotto al letto,” a comedy directed, written and starred by Bruno Colella. She went on to appear in the documentary film “The Protagonist” (1999) and other films like “Alex l'ariete” (2000), in which she starred along with former ski star Alberto Tomba, and “Ancient Warriors” (2003), an American action film directed by  Walter von Huene. She played the female lead on the television series “Love Bugs” (2004).

Meanwhile, Hunziker co-hosted with Pippo Baudo the Canale 5 show “La festa del Disco.” From 1999 to 2001, she presented the late night show “Nonsolomoda” (Canale 5), in which she reported about lifestyle and fashion. Hunziker also presented  a  lifestyle show called “Cinderella” for  TV3,  the first private television station in Switzerland. Hunziker also worked in Germany, where she co-hosted the show “Michael Jackson & Friends” (ZDF) in Munich and presented “Erstes Glück” (SWR/Das Erste) with Thomas Elstner. After the cancellation of  “Erstes Glück,” she returned to Italy and hosted the shows “Donna sotto le stelle” and “Piazza di Spagna” (Canale 5) with Gerry Scotti and “Tacchi a spillo” (Italia 1) with Claudio Lippi. She co-hosted the Italian comedy shows “Zelig” (Italia 1) and “Scherzi a parte” (Canale 5) in 2001 and the famous Italian open air music show “Festivalbar” with Daniele Bossari and Alessia Marcuzzi in 2002 and 2003. From 2002 to 2004, she hosted the first two seasons of  “Deutschland sucht den Superstar,” the German version of the British TV show “Pop Idol.”

In 2006, Hunziker released a music album in English called “Lole”. The album spawned one single, “From Noon till Midnight.” She covered three songs of Maltese singer Ira Losco for “Lole”: “Get Out,” “Someone Else” and “Love me or Hate me.” The same year, she was nominated for the Romy Gala, Austria Award in the category of Favorite Show Host – Female for her work on “Echo - Deutscher Musikpreis.”

In 2007, Hunziker starred opposite Christian De Sica and Alessandro Siani in the Italian movie “Natale in crociera,” which was helmed by Neri Parenti. It was followed by a starring turns as Linda Vita in the Italian comedy film “Natale a Rio” (2008) and as Serena in “Christmas in Beverly Hills” (2009).

In 2007, Hunziker co-hosted the worldwide popular Italian song contest, “the Festival di Sanremo” on Rai Uno, with Pippo Baudo.

In October 2009, Hunziker began her tenure as co-host in the German most popular TV show “Wetten, dass.” Later, in 2011, she was nominated for a Romy in the category of Favorite Entertainer for her work on the show (shared with Thomas Gottschalk).    

In 2012, Hunziker served as a judge on “Das Supertalent.” She also became Jury member in “DSDS Kids.”
