Childhood and Family: On October 22, 1981, Michael Desmond Quatil was born in Long Beach, California, to N. Fishman and D. Fishman. The middle child of the family, Fishman has an older sister named Robyn Danielle Fishman (born in 1978) and a younger brother named Matthew Lewis Fishman (born in 1991). After graduating from Los Alamitos High School, Fishman attended Orange County Of the Performing Arts. On his 18th birthday in 1999, Fishman married Jennifer Briner, who works in a day-care-center and is 2 years his senior. Career: Trying acting when his elder sister decided it would be a good way to raise money for college, Michael Fishman started acting when he was five and got his first big break at age seven when he was personally chosen by Roseanne for the role of D.J. Conner, Roseanne's lonely, bizarre, and unpopular son who was frequently taunted by his sisters and peers, on the hit ABC sitcom starring the stand-up comedienne, “Roseanne.” Fishman would stay in the show until 1997 and his performance has won him a Young Artist Award for Best Performance: Young Actor in a TV Comedy Series in 1995 and TV Land's Innovator Award in 2008. He was also nominated for Young Artist Award's Exceptional Performance by a Young Actor Under Nine (1991), Young Artist Award's Best Young Actor Under Nine Years of Age in 1989, and YoungStar's Best Performance by a Young Actor in a Comedy TV Series in 1997. He honored deceased co-star Glenn Quinn, who played the edgy Mark Healy in the show and died in December 2002, by setting up a memorial fund for him. During his “Roseanne” tenure, Fishman guest-starred in a 1996 episode of Nickelodeon's animated television series "Hey Arnold!" and in a December 1997 episode of NBC sitcom "Seinfeld."
