SummaryA pleasant surprise, and definitely worth a look
Content
Let me start my review by stating that I think Mandy Moore is actually a wonderful talent. She has the voice of an angel, the beauty of a model, and acting chops that, while still being honed, show tremendous promise. Her performances in "How To Deal", and moreover in "A Walk To Remember" showcase that of a young lady who will, hopefully, be entertaining audiences for many years to come. Many people will discount this movie because of her bubblegum pop music past; they should not.

The film largely takes place with a European backdrop, including some great scenery. The soundtrack was also well chosen, and had some familiar songs, as well as new songs that fit the mood of the scenes that they were in. In terms of the acting, I feel as if I graded this movie fairly. Mark Harmon and newcomer Matthew Goode turn in solid efforts. No one should be expecting the words "Chasing Liberty" to follow the words "...and the Oscar goes to", but most people realize that, and will appreciate this movie for what it is : a fun, light-hearted picture.

This movie is nothing terribly original, but it has some new premises, and even a couple of twists throughout the movie that should keep you interested. There are also some funny, light-hearted moments that should evoke a chuckle or two from you. It is not a cinema classic, but it accomplishes its goal of being entertaining for a wide audience.

I am admittedly biased, but this movie is worth the price for Mandy Moore alone. I hope that she will begin to take on more challenging acting roles in the future. I, for one, am looking forward to watching her career blossom. However, until the Academy calls Mandy's name, enjoy "Chasing Liberty".

SummaryA cute movie, but not much else
Content
CHASING LIBERTY is a cute, fun movie, but not much else. I enjoyed it the first time I saw it, but after that it just kind of...fizzles out.

Anna Foster (Mandy Moore) is sick of having to deal with being the President of the United States' daughter and having secret service agents follow her everywhere. All Anna wants is one night of freedom, one night where she can do what she wants, when she wants. Her parents, on the other hand, don't have the same desire.

So when the Fosters go to Europe for some political business, Anna's parents decide that she can go out with her friend Gabrielle, but just for one night. Of course, this one night happens to be unlike any other, and Anna meets - and falls for - Ben, the quiet, European photographer. Anna's one night of freedom quickly turns into a whirlwind (runaway) roadtrip with her newfound friend. Anna's having fun and falling for this guy, until she realizes he has ulterior motives.

CHASING LIBERTY is cute (and a step up from the Katie Holmes movie "First Daughter"), but nothing special. I'm a huge fan of Mandy Moore, but surprisingly, I was looking forward to the scenes that took place between other characters, as well. CHASING LIBERTY is a good choice for a movie night or a cute, summery movie.

SummaryLooking for the Techno/Rave song played at the Love Parade?
Content
Well, so was I. But seeing how there is no soundtrack to Chasing Liberty whatsoever, I had to track down this song myself. As difficult as it was, its worth it. Unfortunately, atleast on Amazon, there is no place for you to preview this song to see if its the one you want, but even if it isn't, if you like a good beat, you probably won't be sorry. So, without furthur ado, the song is called Satisfaction and it is by Benny Benassi featuring Biz. I hope anyone who was looking for this song like I was won't have to go through the trouble that I did. Other than that, I really didn't enjoy this movie that much. I liked the footage of the Love Parade and the Benny Benassi song, and so for that I am giving it one star. Enjoy!!

SummaryYou people need to lighten up...
Content
All these in-depth reviews are getting rediculous.
Seams like every jackass with a laptop wants to be a movie critic.
It's simple. This movie is not some great achievement in film making history.Nothing groundbreaking happens, and the acting is not going to get them any oscars,BUT it's a fun movie.
It's a cute a simple story about a girl trying to find love and trying to just deal with growing up.
Unlike all the drama filled teen angst movies, not ALL of us grew up with such hard times as teens, some of us were just bored half the time.
She's not going through any horrible situations, she's just a girl looking for some excitment.
It's a good movie,it really is,and i had fun watching it.
So let's all get of our high horse and just have some damn fun and enjoy this movie.
