Very funny and very clever film that I enjoyed thoroughly. Martin Lawrence is one of the few guys in mainstream films prepared to go right into the heart of race issues and kick some ass. Here he cleverly riffs off the Rodney King affair in a hilarious expose of the true state of race relations in America in 2003. His portrayal of a hysterical and super-prejudiced black man wreaking havoc on a poor, innocent white guy is the slyest and sweetest comment I have yet seen on the white-on-black racism that has been an unending blight on American history. Martin's genius is to say, why don't we have Steve Zahn play the black man and I'll be the white man and let's see how we all feel. Black or white you've gotta feel for Steve in this film and loathe the Martin character and that really is the whole point. A man's character shines out far beyond his skin colour. This film has really tied up a lot of people in knots - I hope that on mature reflection they can begin to untie some of them. Thank heavens for Martin Lawrence and his unique approach to the truth - J |

 | This is about a guy( Martin Lawrence), who accuses a cop( Steve Zahn) of beating him, so he can get on the police force, whn really he was just beating a bee that Martin Lawrences charactar was afraid of. So he goes to prison for 6 months, than they reunite, and have to stick together to take down some criminals. Good Film! |

 | I love Martin Lawrence movies such as "Blue Streak" and "Nothing To Lose" but this one was poor. The one thing that was most annoying was the amount of racist jokes in it - it made Martin look like an arrogant racist schmuk! Almost everything he said in the movie had some sort of racist involvement and after a while it gets annoying and frustrating. Probably the reason why the movie was a box office dud! |
