Background:

American actor Marshall Allman first received real recognition as L. J. Burrows on the Fox hit television series “Prison Break” (2005-2008). Beginning his career as a teenager in Austin, Texas, the young actor broke into Hollywood in 2003 with guest roles in such TV series as “Boston Public” and “Malcolm in the Middle.” He moved to film the following year with “Shallow Ground” and “Little Black Book” and has since acted in the movies “Hostage” (2005), “Dishdogz” (2005) and “Prey 4 Me” (2007) and in episodes of “Cold Case,” “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “Ghost Whisperer” and “Grey's Anatomy.” His more recent roles include appearances in “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” “Eli Stone” (both 2008), “Mad Men” (2009) and “Men of a Certain Age,” to name a few. He currently portrays Tommy Mickens in the television hit series “True Blood” (2010-current) and will appear in “Blue Like Jazz” and “Sugar.”

Allman is the husband of actress Jamie Anne Allman, whom he married in 2006.

In addition to acting, painting, drawing and soccer, Allman enjoys music and studied piano and guitar. He collects model submarines and watches.

Childhood and Family:

Marshall Scot Allman was born on April 5, 1984, in Austin, Texas, to James and Idanell. He became interested in soccer and visual arts at age 5 and carried his passion into high school. He picked up art awards from competitions sponsored by Texas in high school and successfully led his high school soccer team to win the Texas state championship. After graduating from Austin High School in 2002, he went to Los Angeles to study acting and was trained as an actor at Playhouse West.

Marshall married actress Jamie Anne Allman on June 17, 2006, in his hometown of Austin, Texas.


Prison Break

Career:

Marshall Allman began his acting career at age 17 when he produced and appeared in “History of the Devil,” a production of the Fear Theatre Company in Austin, Texas. After high school, he headed to Los Angeles to further pursue his career.

Within a year of arriving in Hollywood, Allman landed guest spots in episodes of “Without a Trace,” “Threat Matrix,” “Boston Public” and “Malcolm in the Middle” (all 2003). The same year, he also appeared in the pilot of “Married to the Kellys,” a comedy that aired on Fox from 1993 to 1994. After making a guest appearance in a 1994 episode of “The Practice,” Allman made the jump to the big screen with a bit part in “Shallow Ground” (2004). He received a bigger role in “Little Black Book,” a romantic comedy that starred Brittany Murphy, Holly Hunter and Kathy Bates.

The next year saw Allman act with Haylie Duff in “Dishdogz,” appear in the short film “Starcrossed,” which was directed by James Burkhammer, and work with Traci Lords in the short “Sweet Pea.” Also that year, he was cast in the supporting role of Kevin Kelly in the Bruce Willis movie “Hostage.” Other actors who starred in the movie include Kevin Pollak, Jimmy Bennett, Michelle Horn, Ben Foster and Jonathan Tucker.

However, the young actor did not hit the big time until he won the reoccurring role of L.J. Burrows Junior on the Fox successful series “Prison Break.” Debuting in August 2005, the drama received a 2006 People's Choice Award for Favorite New Television Drama and was nominated for a Golden Globe award in the category of Best Television Series - Drama. It also earned a Teen Choice nomination for TV - Choice Breakout Show and a Television Critics Association nomination for Outstanding New Program of the Year (both 2006). While on the series (2005-2008), Allman also appeared in episodes of “Cold Case,” “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” and “Saving Grace” (all 2007). He resumed his movie career with roles in the short “A Day with the Urns” (2007) and the horror film “Prey 4 Me” (2007). During the next few years, Allman appeared in guest roles in episodes “Ghost Whisperer,” “Eli Stone” and “Mad Men,” to name a few.

In 2010, Allman began portraying the role of Tommy Mickens in the popular television vampire series “True Blood.” He will also costar in director Steve Taylor’s upcoming film “Blue Like Jazz” and Rotimi Rainwater’s “Sugar.”
