Background:

San Diego-born actress Marissa Tait sharpened her craft at the San Diego School of Creative and Preforming Arts and San Diego State University. She got her first big break in 1999 when she landed the Soap Opera Digest-nominated role of Rebecca 'Becky' Moore on the popular CBS soap opera "The Bold and the Beautiful" (aka. "B&B").

She also played Teala, the baby sitter, on the CBS sitcom "Baby Bob" (2002-2003), and has guest starred in an episode of "The O'Keefes," "Angel," and "I'm with Her."

As for her film works, Marissa could be seen in "Witchouse" (1999), "Totem" (1999), "The Biggest Fan" (2002), "The Rain Makers" (2005), and "Berkeley" (2005). The 5' 5" will star in the upcoming film "The Last Resort," a horror/thriller directed by Brandon Nutt.

Childhood and Family:

Daughter to a mother who worked in a bank and a father who worked as sound technician at the Old Globe Theater, Marissa Tait was born in San Diego, California, on May 27, 1979. She has one younger brother named Christopher.

Marissa's parents divorced when she was twelve. She went to the San Diego School of Creative and Preforming Arts for high school and then enrolled as a theater major at San Diego State University.


The Last Resort

Career:

While sharpening her craft at San Diego State University, Marissa Tait performed in the debut production of Robert Schenkkan's "The Kentucky Cycle," portraying young Mary Ann.

After snagging the role of Rebecca 'Becky' Moore (1999-2000) on the popular CBS soap opera "The Bold and the Beautiful" (aka. "B&B"), which earned her a Soap Opera Digest Award nomination for Outstanding Female Newcomer, Marissa relocated to Los Angeles.

During her "B&B" stint, Marissa appeared in two 1999 straight-to-video released horrors, "Witchouse," in which she played the girlfriend of a jock (played by Dane Northcutt) who is possessed by Lilith and becomes demonic, and "Totem," in which she co-starred with Jason Faunt.

After her contract with "B&B" ended, Marissa played Teala, the baby sitter, on the CBS sitcom "Baby Bob" (2002), which ended after only eight of the fourteen episodes produced were aired. The remaining episodes later shown on CBS in the summer of 2003.

Meanwhile, Marissa co-starred in "The Biggest Fan" (2002), a film based around the pop boy band Dream Street.

She was also spotted as a guest in an episode of the short-lived WB show "The O'Keefes," the WB's "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" spin-off, "Angel," and the ABC sitcom "I'm with Her."

In 2005, Marissa was cast in writer/director Ray Ellingsen's action drama film starring Jake Busey, "The Rain Makers," and in Bobby Roth's drama starring Nick Roth, "Berkeley."

She is currently on set and will soon complete filming her upcoming project, "The Last Resort," a horror/thriller directed by Brandon Nutt in which she stars as Kathleen, a bride to be who travels to Mexico with her four bridesmaids (played by America Olivo, Arianne Zuker, Sita Young, and Paulie Rojas) for a bachelorette weekend that goes awry.
