Career:

Margot Robbie made her film acting debut as Cassandra in Aash Aaron's “Vigilante,” which was released in Australia on November 11, 2008. Impressed by her performance during an audition, Aash Aaron then cast her in the lead role of Tristan Waters on the director's thriller film, “I.C.U.” (2009), opposite Christian Radford and James Dean. She also was credited as an associate producer on the film. Robbie also guest starred as Caitlin Brentford in an episode of “City Homicide” called “Somersaulting Dogs” (2008), and as Kelly in “Review with Myles Barlow” (2008) as well as had an uncredited part as Butterfly in two episodes of “The Elephant Princess” (2008).

Robbie's big break arrived when she was cast as Donna Freedman on the Aussie hit soap opera  “Neighbours.” Originally, the character  was only a guest role, but she was immediately promoted to a regular cast member. Robbie was on the show from June 2, 2008 to January 26, 2011, and received a 2009 Logie in the category of Most Popular New Female Talent and a 2011 Silver Logie nomination for Most Popular Actress for her work on “Neighbours.”

Following her appearance on the series, Robbie was featured on many Network Ten promotions in early 2009. In July 2009, she filled the “Generation Y” guest spot on the Network Ten show “Talkin' 'Bout Your Generation.” She also served as a Youth Ambassador for missing persons as part of National Youth Week.

Robbie left “Neighbours” to try her luck in Hollywood. After arriving in Los Angeles, she attended an audition for the new series of “Charlie's Angels,” but won the role of Laura Cameron, a newly trained flight attendant, on the ABC drama series “Pan Am” instead. The series ran for a season from September 25, 2011 to February 19, 2012.

Robbie was cast opposite Domhnall Gleeson, Rachel McAdams, Bill Nighy and Tom Hollander on the British romantic comedy directed by Richard Curtis, “About Time.” The film was released on September 4, 2013 in the United Kingdom and in the United States on November 1, 2013. It has since grossed over 85 million worldwide.

Robbie played the role of Naomi Lapaglia on Martin Scorsese's black comedy “The Wolf of Wall Street,” based on Jordan Belfort's memoir of the same name. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio as Belfort, the film was released on the United States on December 25, 2013 and earned positive reviews from critics. It was nominated for five Oscars, for Best Motion Picture of the Year, Best Achievement in Directing, Best Writing, Adapted Screenplay,  Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role and Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role. Besides, she is set to star opposite Garrett Hedlund and Ray Liotta in Matthew Michael Carnahan's crime/drama “Violent Talent” and with Chris Pine and Chiwetel Ejiofor in the film adaptation of a post-apocalyptic science-fiction novel by Robert C.
