American actress Madeline Carroll first attracted the attention of public after playing Molly Johnson in “Swing Vote” (2008), where she also received a Young Artist nomination for her performance. She also shared a Young Artist nomination for her performance in “The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause” (2006). Carroll has had supporting roles in several comedy and drama films. Her first film lead role was opposite Callan McAuliffe, in the 2010 feature film “Flipped.”   


Childhood and Family:

Madeline Carroll was born on March 18, 1996, in Los Angeles, California, as Marissa Madeline Carroll. Her father is a contractor and her mother is a homemaker. She has three brothers: Jack, Ned and Dylan. Madeline started modeling when she was three years old. One and a half year later, she was discovered by a theatrical agent in a nail shop in Sherman Oaks.



Madeline Carroll made her television debut in 2003 by playing Gwen Deamer in an episode of “Cold Case” called “Gleen.” She went on to appear as a guest star in television series like “Hidden Howie: The Private Life of a Public Nuisance” (2005), “Night Stalker” (2005), “Wanted” (2005, playing Irene), “All of Us” (2006), “Passions” (2006), “Lost” (2007), “Grey's Anatomy” (2008), “Lie to Me” (2009), “Cold Case” (2009), “The Cleaner” (2009), “NCIS” (2009), “Private Practice” (2010) and “R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour” (2011, 2013).

Carroll made her film debut in “When a Stranger Calls,” a 2006 thriller film directed by Simon West and starring Camilla Belle, Tommy Flanagan, Katie Cassidy and Clark Gregg. There she played the role of Allison Mandrakis. The same year, she portrayed Cocoa in the Disney movie “The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause,” directed by Michael Lembeck. The role brought her a 2007 Young Artist nomination for Best Young Ensemble in a Feature Film, sharing with Ridge Canipe, Kate Emerick,    Eric Lloyd, Spencer Breslin, Liliana Mumy, Darian Bryant, Chantel Valdivieso, Ryan Heinke and Charlie Stewart.

Next up for Carroll, the actress appeared as White Queen in “Resident Evil: Extinction” (2007), the third installment in the “Resident Evil” film series, offered a bright turn as Molly Johnson, Bud's daughter, on the comedy/drama film “Swing Vote” (2008), for which she was nominated for a 2009 Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a Feature Film - Leading Young Actress for her work, and provided the voice of Widget in the computer-animated action film “Astro Boy” (2009). She also had a supporting role in the spy comedy film “The Spy Next Door” (2009), starring Jackie Chan and     Amber Valletta, shared lead credit with Callan McAuliffe in the Rob Reiner comedy/drama film “Flipped” (2010), was cast as Jim Carrey's daughter in Mark Waters's “Mr. Popper's Penguins” (2011), had a small part in “Machine Gun Preacher” (2011) and played Virginia Madsen's daughter in the drama film “The Magic of Belle Isle” (2012), directed by Rob Reiner.   

In 2014, Carroll appeared as Karen Grant in two episodes of “Scandal” called “The Price of Free and Fair Elections” and “Mama Said Knock You Out.”
