Summaryvery cute!!
Content
This is a charming movie about seeking vengeance on a dirty, mean-spirited and misogynistic boss (Dabney Coleman). I loved this story because it combined fantasy/cartoon sequences with great slapstick and engaging actors. When three intelligent, fed-up 9 to 5 white collar workers (Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin and Dolly Parton) decide to team up against their boss, chaos and laughs follow in droves!

Nine to Five is a timeless story that takes a look at office politics and the struggle for the modern woman to overcome office oppression and daily injustices in the workplace. When Lily Tomlin's character accidently puts rat poisoning in their superior's coffee, this sets off a whole chain of events. You just have to see it. It's funny, the women are sharp and intelligent and you are just waiting for them to stick it to their evil, sexist boss.

Well if you don't have a sense of humor, walk away now but this movie is one of the greats. If you are a working woman who hates her boss because he is a male chauvenist pig who is constantly sexually harrassing you and you fantasize about being able to make sure he gets his just desserts because on top of it all he makes you buy his wife presents since he can't remember to do it himself, well this movie is for you without giving it away... just watch it and see what I mean!

SummaryTake This Job...
Content
Following the super Alfred Hitchcock homage comedy Foul Play, late director Collin Higgins took on corporate America and equality in the workplace, with the succesful film 9 To 5. Bolsterd by four winning performances, the film is so much fun, that it avoids the trappings of a "message" movie.

At the Consolidated company, Office Manager Violet Newstead (Lilly Tomlin), the vice president's secretary Doralee Rhoades (Dolly Parton) and the newest employee Judy Burnly (Jane Fonda) become great friends. As the three ladies share their ever growing resentment about their egotistical, sexist boss Franklin Hart (Dabney Coleman), the trio fantasize how each of them would do him in. When they inadvertently get a chance to take revenge putting him through his paces, they institute a host of popular office procedures in his absence - even as their scheme spins wildly out of control and Hart tries to take back his power.

Higgins, who collaborated with Patricia Resnick on the clever and witty script, lucked out with this cast. Fonda, playing against her tough image is tops as meek and timid Judy, Tomlin soars as the tough as nails Violet, and in her first film, Parton proves she can hold her own. The three ladies have excellent chemistry with one another. As Hart, Coleman oozes a smarmy, self centered egotism that makes Ted Knight's character on the TV classic Mary Tyler Moore Show look like a generous human being. As the Office Spy Roz Elizabeth Wilson only adds to the mayhem. The three fantasies of doing in the boss are a hoot and highlight the film...Lest I forget Parton's wildly popular working woman's anthem. What's great here is that while 9 To 5 has some important things to say about equality in the workplace--it doesn't need a soapbox to say it, the story and comedy do that on their own.

The DVD's only extra is the theatrical trailer. It would have been cool to see or hear the cast reunite in some fashion just the same...

9 To 5 is a winning comedy that works, even if, it is a bit dated now. Recommended fun for all.

SummaryDo you do M&M's?
Content
Dabney Colman plays Franklin Hart Jr. He is working hard at being the typical manager of an office with a small business on the side.

Mr. Hart can not understand what is happening to him. It seems that everything he does backfires. Violet (Lily Tomlin) "his right-hand man" gets upset because he promotes someone that she trained, instead of her. After making overtures to the married Doralee (Dolly Parton), she threatens to turn him "from a rooster to a hen" with one shot.

The "girls" get together and fantasize different ways to dispose of Franklin. Dabney Coleman outdoes himself in the scene where they are hunting him down.

Later Violet may have put "Rid-a-Rat" in his coffee, which leads to a great hospital scene. Violet says, "I'm no fool. I've killed the boss, you think they're not gonna fire me for a thing like that?!" He eventually spends time literally hanging around Judy's (Jane Fonda) house while the Trio of women get the goods on his side business of pilfering from their company.

Will the girls get way with their plans or is Hart too smart?

Be sure to read the closing credits.
