SummaryEpisode I, good!
Content
Although many critics and die hard SW fan complained about the first episode, I enjoyed it a lot. The pod-racer scene is one of my all-time favourites and obviously the special effects are brilliant! Yes, Jar-Jar is an annoying ass,but the movie is very enjoyable.

SummaryIt's hard for me to go down to a 3 or up to a 4...
Content
This is definitely the worst of the Star Wars movies, but it isn't meant to be a fight to the death between all the jedi and droids. It's the prelude to all the others, and i can't say i was expecting a lot of fighting. It starts great, Obi Wan and Kwi Gon infiltrate a Trade federation ship. But after that it goes into a sort of low point where not much is going on. One of my favorite scenes though is where Obi Wan and Kwi Gon find Jar Jar Binks, who is funny for about five minutes, but then just gets annoying (In the scene on Tatooine where Jar Jar aggrivates Subulba I was hoping Sebulba might rip his throat out). The movie picks back up when Anakin races his pod. The best scene in the movie. Then it slows back down till the end when the Gungan army fights the droid army, and Obi Wan and Kwi Gon fight Darth Maul. I would rate this movie a four at times when im watching it, but other times i would give it a three. Any real Star Wars fan should pick this up, it isn't bad like some people say, it just has a different type of story.

SummaryEpisode 1: The Beginning of the End of Star Wars
Content
This movie got off to what seemed to be a good start: Two Jedi's, a lightsaber action sequence, and lots of laser bolts being fired in all directions. It ended on a good note too: an amazing sequence between Darth Maul and our two heroic Jedi. And to top it all off, Episode 1 had a fantastic musical score.

But what about the two hours in between the beginning and the end? Rubbish! Bad story, bad dialogue [which unfortunately causes bad acting from otherwise great actors], lame editing, ridiculous over-the-top CG, and terrible directing. In fact, as I continue to review the first three Star Wars films, you will continue to see this common theme, except for the 3rd one [I'll get to that some other time].

The "prequel" trilogy is supposed to chronicle the rise and fall of Anakin Skywalker and the Old Republic. Gungans? Lame. Trade Federation? Lame. Cheesy battle droids? Lame. Jar Jar Binks? I will kill you George Lucas. I love(d) Star Wars. Until I saw this film. Then I began to doubt myself. And this chasm of doubt only continues to widen with each new film.

Don't see this film. Just the final fight between Obiwan/Qui gon and Darth Maul.
