Como La Primera Vez

Career:

Kiara began singing with her school choir but her distinctive, powerful voice led her to being asked to leave after the rest of the members did not feel she blended in well with the group. Undismayed by the experience, she continued to develop her love for music and sang for her friends. After completing her studies, Kiara decided to make a serious go of music.

In 1988, Kiara released a self titled debut album on the SonoRodven label. The album produced four singles, including “Que Bello” and “Deskarado,” which rose to No. 31 and No. 34 on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart. Her second album, “Buscando Pelea,” followed in 1990. It generated four hit singles with “Es El Amor,” “Quiero Un Angel,” “Con Mi Cara Tan Lavada” and “De Nuevo Estoy Temblando,” with the latter two songs peaking at No. 35 and No. 28 on the Hot Latin Songs chart, respectively. “Es El Amor” and “Con Mi Cara Tan Lavada” were featured in television’s “Pasionaria,” starting Fernando Carrillo and Catherine Fulop. Also in 1990, she released a popular duet, “Tesoro Mío,” with Guillermo Dávila. The song made the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart (#3).

Kiara released her third studio album, “Como Un Huracán,” in 1992. The singles “Libérame” and “Que Suba La Temperatura” peaked at No. 19 and No. 21 on the Billboard Hot Latin chart, respectively. The album also contained the singles “Baila Conmigo” and “Azúcar.” Kiara went on to release two more albums in the 1990s. “Luna De Plata” (1995) produced the hit singles “Luna de Plata” (“My One And Only”), which went to No. 26 on the Billboard Hot Latin and No. 2 on the Latin Pop Songs charts, “Nadie Como Tu,” a top 20 hit on the Latin Pop Songs, and “Hey, Hey.” “Corazón De Contrabando” (1997) contained the hits “Cada Dos Días” and “Raro.”

Kiara branched out to acting in 1992 with a title role in the Venezuelan TV series “Macarena,” opposite Luis José Santander and Ana Martínez. She returned to acting in 1998 with the small role of Luisa Elena in the TV series “Reina de corazones” and 2000 with the TV series “Amantes de Luna Llena,” where she played Lorena Santamaría.

In 2002, Kiara released an album titled “Amores Perdidos” with the singles “Besos De Fuego” and “Cenizas.” The following year, she was cast as Laura Briceño in the television dramatic series “La mujer de Judas,” opposite Chantal Baudaux, Juan Carlos García and Estefanía López. It was followed by roles on the TV series “Amor a Palos” (2005, as Patricia Lara), “Y los declaro marido y mujer” (2006, as Lola), “Te tengo en salsa” (2006, as Azalea Montiel De Perroni), “Estrambótica Anastasia” (2007, as Bromelia de Borosfky) and “Nadie me dirá como quererte” (2008, as Laura Carbonell).

In 2010, Kiara resumed her music career by releasing the album “Como La Primera Vez.” It yielded one single, “Perdoname.”
