Katelyn Tarver is an American singer and actress. She is known for
playing recurring roles in television series “Big Time
Rush” (as Jo Taylor, 2010-2012), “No Ordinary Family”
(as Natalie, 2010-2011) and “The Secret Life of the American
Teenager” (as Mercedes, 2012). Tarver, who was the top 10
finalists on the only season of the reality television program
“American Juniors” (2003), released her first full
length album, “Wonderful Crazy,” in 2005.
Tarver is best friends with Tiffany Thornton. She mentions Faith Hill
as one of her favorite singers. Her hobbies include competing in
gymnastics, sing and dance, and hanging out with her friends.

Childhood and Family:
Katelyn Marie Tarver was born on November 2, 1989, in Glennville,
Georgia. Her mother, Kim, is a vocalist, and her father, Kenny, is a
guitarist. She has three siblings, Drew, Amanda and Jake. Katelyn,
whose nicknames are Kate or KT, was educated at Pinewood Christian
Academy. She was a cheerleader at her school.
Wonderful Crazy
Career:
Katelyn Tarver kicked off her career in showbiz in 2003 when she
participated in the reality television singing competition series
“American Juniors,” which aired on Fox for a single
season from June 3, 2003 to August 19, 2003.
Though succeeding in making it to the finals (top 10), she failed
to win a spot on the five member band.
After “American Juniors,” Tarver released “I'll Make
it Real/Loverboy” (Maxi Single) in 2004, and her first full
length album, “Wonderful Crazy,” followed on November 8,
2005. “Wonderful Crazy” was produced by Kevin Savigar and
Gabriel Dorman, and was released through indie label, TC Music. It
spawned two singles, “I'll Make It Real” and
“Wonderful Crazy.”
In 2007, Tarver starred in the music video of Mitchel Musso's
“The In Crowd.” She was also featured on the duet
“Us Against The World” on Musso's album.
In 2008, Tarver began starring in the reality television series “Katelyn Tarver TV,” which would run until 2011.
Tarver made her acting debut on the Nickelodeon
musical/comedy “Big Time Rush,” starring Kendall
Schmidt, James Maslow, Carlos Pena, Jr., Logan Henderson, Ciara Bravo,
Stephen Kramer Glickman and Tanya Chisholm. Playing the recurring role
of Jo Taylor, a girl which the boys have a crush on, she made her first
appearance on the episode “Big Time Love Song,” which
broadcast on February 5, 2010.
From 2010 to 2011, Tarver played the recurring role of Natalie Poston,
JJ's love interest, on the short lived ABC drama series “No
Ordinary Family.” She appeared in a total of 5 episodes.
On June 14, 2011, Tarver launched her EP “ A Little More
Free” independently. From June to July 2011, she started a tour
with Honor Society as an opening act on the “Wherever You Are
Tour.”
In January 2012, Tarver had the lead role of Jenny Fulbright in the
action/thriller movie “Mayhem,” which also marked her first
film. Her co-stars in the film included Cameron Daddo, Steve Monroe,
Richard Blake, and Marianne Chambers. She returned to the small screen
with a recurring role as Mercedes on the ABC Family series “The
Secret Life of the American Teenager” (2008-?). Her debut episode
was “Smokin' Like a Virgin,” which aired on March 26, 2012.
In the summer of 2012, Tarver toured alongside the bands Parachute and The Cab.
