Career:
Kate Norby hit the small screen in 1999 with guest appearances in the
television series “Third Watch” and “Time of Your
Life,” playing Babe and Peggy, respectively. Her first television
film performance was in 2000's “Hopewell,” opposite Jeremy
Davidson and Kelly Deadmon. She portrayed Margaret in the short film
“Believe” (2000), directed and written by Aaron Saidman.
Norby went on to guest star in a string of television shows like
“The $treet” (2000, as Marcey), “Angel” (2001,
as Elisabeth), “Crossing Jordan” (2002, as Kelly McDonald),
“For the People” (2002, as Sharon Bryce) and “That
Was Then” (2002). She was cast as Tammy in the Lifetime
television movie “Taking Back Our Town” (2001), starring
Laura Innes, Ruby Dee and Chris Bauer, and appeared with Melissa
Gilbert, Sean Patrick Flanery and Dennis Ambriz in the Western TV film
“Then Came Jones” (ABC, 2003). Norby made her feature film
acting debut as Samantha Cheek in the horror/thriller movie
“Scared” (2002), opposite Luciano Saber and Cory Almeida.

In 2005, Norby portrayed Karen Silber in the pilot of the CBS TV drama
“Numb3rs.” The same year, she also made guest appearances
in “Joan of Arcadia” (as Dr. Jennifer Davis), “CSI:
Miami” (as Julie Sullivan), “The Closer” (as Lindsey
Hagan) and “CSI: NY” (as Monica Drake). She also played the
role of Wendy Banjo in the Rob Zombie horror/thriller movie “The
Devil's Rejects,” starring Sid Haig, Sheri Moon Zombie and Bill
Moseley.
2006-2007 found guest spots in “The Unit” (as Pam),
“Bones” (as Karen Tyler), “Close to Home” (as
Donna Kale), “Cold Case” (as Ginny Williams),
“Lincoln Heights” (as Karen Mulaney), “NCIS”
(as Diane Russio) and “Shark” (as Diane Hadley). She played
Carol McCardy in two episodes of the AMC hit period drama series
“Mad Men.”
In 2008, Norby had a recurring role as Gail Saxton in the short lived
series “Swingtown,” which ran on CBS from June 5 to
September 5. Among the principal cast were Molly Parker, Jack
Davenport, Grant Show, Lana Parrilla, Josh Hopkins, Miriam Shor and
Shanna Collins.
In 2009, Norby began her recurring role as Glory in the HBO now defunct
drama series “Big Love,” starring Bill Paxton and Jeanne
Tripplehorn.
Norby next appeared in episodes of “Nip/Tuck” (2010, as
Marcy Hamill/'Virginia Hayes'), “Past Life” (2010, as
Amanda Powell) and “The Mentalist” (2011, as Sally
Carter).
