I'm Not Anybody's Girl

Background:

Pop singer/songwriter of Italian-American and Spanish-American descent Kaci Lyn Battaglia has pursued her career from an early age. Starting singing at age 3, she made a Christmas album for family and friends at age nine and recorded a CD, “A Thousand Stars,” at age 10. Her debut album, “I'm Not Anybody's Girl,” was released when she was 15, in 2002. It spawned two major hits with the singles “Paradise” (2001) and “I Think I Love You” (2002). In 2001, she was nominated for The Disney Channel Kids Award in the category of “New Chart Shocker” and was handed “Most Glamorous Newcomer” on the SmashHits Tour in Europe. Her new single, “I Can't Help Myself,” was launched in 2007.

Aside from pop, Kaci also masters other styles of music, including Jazz, Country and Broadway. Her musical influences include Celine Dion, Judy Garland and Gloria Estefan. She now listens to groups such as Greenday, Incubus and POD. On her idol Judy Garland, she said, “I have 13 Judy Garland CDs and eight of her movies on video. Judy Garland puts all of her feelings into her songs. She's mesmerizing.”

Kaci currently resides in Vermont, but planning on relocating to California soon.

I Think I Love You

Career:

Kaci Lyn Battaglia began singing at the age of 3, and by the time she was eight, she had joined a local singing group of girls who performed at various events around the local Tampa/St.Petersburg area. Immediately, Kaci found herself making solo performances, such as singing the National Anthem for Florida Governor, Florida Congressman, and the New York Yankees. When she was nine, the dynamic girl recorded a Christmas album for her family and friends. A CD called “A Thousand Stars” followed a year later, which was produced by her mother. Singer/songwriter Bobby Goldsboro contributed five songs in the CD. During that same period, Kaci tried her hand in acting that included performances in several commercials and in a movie for home video, among others.

Lured by the success of her independent album, Kaci started searching for a recording contract when she was eleven years old. She attracted the attention of Curb Records and was signed after giving them an impressive performance. Her first single, “Paradise,” was released in 2001 and went gold in the United Kingdom. Its music video became a top-five requested video on MTV and The Box. In America, the song netted several Nick Video Picks of the Day, and Kaci herself received a 2001 Disney Channel Kids nomination for New Chart Shocker and was awarded a “Most Glamorous Newcomer” on the SmashHits Tour in Europe.

Kaci's debut album, “I'm Not Anybody's Girl,” was released on July 16, 2002. She scored her next UK hit with the second single “I Think I Love You,” a cover of a hit by David Cassidy, which reached No. 10 on the UK singles charts. “I Think I Love You” video was in the top-ten most requested for MTV, SmashHits TV, The Box (Europe) and No. 2 most requested on YTV-Hits in Canada, as well as top-five on Nickelodeon in the USA.

Kaci supported the album by embarking on her first solo tour across America with the support of Pepsi, Fuji Film, GGP and Sam Goody. She also toured with O-Town in United States, Europe, Ireland, and Germany, and served as an opening act for Backstreet Boys in several dates.

Kaci's success on music has landed her appearances in countless magazines like Teen, Teen People, Bop, Top Of The Pops, Blast, Sugar, Live & Kicking, Popstars, The Parade, Bravo, YM,Teen Beat, Cosmo Girl, Sixteen, Tiger Beat, Kidsday Newsday, Scholastic Magazine, to name a few, and on television such as CNN, Entertainment Tonight, Extra Extra, Fox & Friends National News, CBS Saturday Morning News, Channel 1 News, KTLA News, Jerry Lewis Telethon, Teen Choice Awards, Disney, Nickelodeon, CD:UK, Top Of The Pops, The Exchange, Diggit, Live & Kicking, Pop Jam and others.

In 2007, Kaci launched a new single called “I Can't Help Myself” from her new album. “I want to make records, make movies and be on the cover of magazines,” she said when asked about her future plans.

In addition to singing and writing her own songs, Kaci is also a producer and musician. She stated, “I play the guitar- I just bought a 2002 limited edition Takamine - it's my baby! I think playing an instrument is important and is an asset when writing songs! As for producing...I love it and had the privilege to co-produce “Beggin Me” with Aaron Sain. It was great, I love the entire creative process to making music.”
