Julia graduated the University of Southern California in 2003. There, she earned her BM in music composition and also participated in USC's acclaimed Film Scoring Program as an undergraduate. She also received the BMI award in Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television through the USC Film Scoring Program. And shortly after graduation, she was selected to take part in the prestigious ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop. From then on forward, she has been actively scoring films as well as collaborating and aiding film composers on their projects. Just recently, Julia interned for James Newton Howard on the modern remake of King Kong. Julia has also expanded her musical horizons by composing for the well reviewed theatrical circus entitled, "The Birdhouse Factory" (2004). Her concert music has also received attention. In 2001, her choral piece, "Where Once the Waters of Your Face," was awarded 2nd place in the National Composer's Guild Composition Contest. In 2005, Julia was a semi-finalist in the Turner Classic Movies Young Film Composer's Competition. Julia looks forward to working on many more new and exciting projects. |
