SummaryAlmost five stars
Content
Sean Astin plays Rudy Ruettiger, a kid from a working-class family, who was the dreamer of the bunch. He was too small to play football, but played anway. His grades were not good enough for college, but he found a way. He idolized Notre Dame, and dreamed of playing. Almost everyone pointed out all the reasons this couldn't happen, but that was irrelevant to Rudy, who believed that he could overcome the obstacles through sheer will. He didn't accomplish what he accomplished through pure determination, but his determination inspired several people to help him, and that team effort accomplished wonders.

This film reminded me a lot of the earlier "Breaking Away", where a small-town Indiana boy dreamed of becoming a world-class cyclist. "Breaking Away" had just as much heart as "Rudy" and a bit more humor.

Why did I hold back one star? I'm not sure. I wanted to give it five, but felt that it was a little less of a movie, somehow, than "Breaking Away." Maybe Sean Astin was too laid back at times, and did not give the consistent intensity that pursuing such a dream would require. He had it most of the time, but occasionally seemed to drift off. I wish that 4.5 stars was an option.

SummaryOne Of The Best!!!
Content
This has got to be one of the best true story sports movie I have ever seen. It's shows that to NEVER give up on a dream and if you want it bad enough and work hard, it can happen. The acting, the music, EVERYTHING was a winner. You need to see the movie because it leaves with a great message.

You can't go wrong here! :)

SummaryWhat a story on perseverence!
Content
Overlook a small amount of bad language and you've got a great true story! For those that battle with giving up easy, this is a movie for you. It shows how to persevere and reach the finish line. I was inspired. The interview with the real "Rudy" touches the heart in this Special Edition DVD. Worth buying.

SummaryA great tribute to a guy who would not take no for an answer
Content
I generally don't like Sports Film but I am willing to make an exception. This film just shows that if you want something bad enough and are willing to pay the price. Then the world is yours! A great film about the human spirit!
